For a long time, I have wanted to create a post on this topic as it's very important, not just for newbies, but also for experienced Hivers... Today, I have bumped on one interesting post by @rcaine and that was a final trigger to write it!
Firstly, the sentence from the title is probably one of the most popular here on HIVE, and probably out there too... In general, most people have that feeling that nobody cares about him/her, that nobody ever listens to us (do you have kids? lol), and nobody gives a shit what we are talking about...
When you come to HIVE you are like an empty piece of paper... You have to write on the paper, others would take a peak what have you wrote, add something... Then you take another sheet, create a new story, and someone else comes and comments... Until you write a book... Then, you have followers that are checking your content and maybe, maybe, you don't have that feeling that nobody reads your stuff...

But, even when you are an "established" author, you can have that feeling... Maybe you will get 2-3 comments and you think that you "deserve more", and that nobody else reads it... but you are wrong... Even when people KNOW that commenting on HIVE is important, many of them don't do it... So, if you have 2-3 comments, that doesn't mean that just those 2-3 people read it... It's probably a lot more... (Btw., maybe those 2-3 commenters didn't even read your stuff... lol... it happens often)
I have to admit that sometimes I have the same problem... I think that nobody reads my posts... I mean, I know that a couple of followers do it, but it looks like nobody else "outside" is doing it... But, it's not true... 10 days ago I have written a post about HIVEUPMe Exchange Service and it looks that many people found that information valuable... I got plenty of comments from unknown people that I have never met before... So, people ARE reading quality posts... So, we have a solution... Provide value with your posts and it will be appreciated by the community!

Now, back to the other post that I mentioned in beginning... Rob wrote in his post a list of things that he "DOESN'T DO", explaining why he can't create posts in certain niches... Nobody forces you to write something that you don't like... If others are doing it, you don't have to do it! You can do something else, in your way... You CAN do it! But if you force yourself to do something that you don't like, you will fail... over and over again...
Write about what you LIKE... There is an audience for almost every possible topic... They will find you, but you should try to find them first... Explore communities, comment on others' posts, find inspiration... It's not that hard...
It's not hard to create a list of excuses why we can't do something... That everyone can do it... I can list a dozen in less than a minute... lol... starting with... English is not my mother language... It's almost 2 AM... I'm too tired... I don't have enough time for anything else... I'm not an expert... etc...

But, when you start with blogging... Don't pretend to be something that you aren't... Don't try to be someone else... Be yourself... People will appreciate that the most... If you just copy others, people will pass... and go directly to the person that you copy... to the source... And also, if you do that, and later on change your mind... You will have to do a double effort to "repair the damage"...
People on HIVE are PEOPLE! Because of that, don't treat them like shit... They came to your blog, spent time reading it, maybe left a comment, and you didn't even reply... REPLY to EVERY comment on your post, and do it with a MEANINGFUL comment! Dedicate your time to them as they have dedicated their time to YOUR post! You can do at least that for your audience... UPVOTE comments... It doesn't cost ANYTHING!

Definitely their are times I makes plunders in my content and even with no up vote ,to me I see that as a challenge to come out and do better than what am doing
It's important to listen to the audience and change things in our routines... Tweak posts, be more clear maybe, or add more value to them...

Definitely at times the use of words are very important, but of all one of the best means of encouraging each other is to comment irrespective of the level of English
On most of my sports posts I am lucky if I get 1 comment, I get lots of upvotes every time and I do wonder sometimes if anyone does read the post.
You are right you just have to write about what you like.

It depends a lot on the topic of the content... Sometimes, it's hard to "engage" on some posts as everything is said... But that doesn't mean that people don't read it...

It makes sense tho, that posts need to have content that would attract deeper attention. Leofinance tribe I found to be definite leader in that sense, music , arts and small life blogs would come as second (in my opinion)

I'm always amazed by people who do not answer comments on their own posts and don't give upvotes to them. I mean even people with a lot of hive power don't upvote the comments on their posts.... Even with little hive power we can use tips to reward commenters. I appreciate every comment that I get to a post I create. In my opinion they are worth more than the upvotes. For me every comment deserves to be answered and upvoted. I think it's a very basic mechanisme to make sure that people come back to your posts in the future...
You nailed it with your post about a similar topic... The main thing is to APPRECIATE others, but it looks that it's hard to do if we have money involved... That could be the reason, but who knows, it's probably more personal...

In a nutshell, it's not that complicated to understand... The main thing is to act as usual, in real-life... Just appreciate your friends, listen to them, support them... It's the same on HIVE... The only difference is that it's online, but we have tools to show those things... We can upvote posts, comments, reply to the posts, etc...

Thanks! I'm glad that you liked the post! Regarding different niches/topics, I would say that even those "unusual" topics here on HIVE are very often better "paid" than the usual crypto stuff... This is completely normal, as there is less content and it's easier to stick out!

Some very helpful advice, particularly for newbies like me. One of the things I like about this platform is that, it's relatively easy to get people to read your posts. It's certainly easier than running your own blog on WordPress, where you've got to worry about even getting people to find you.
I am not very good at sticking to a niche. I like to write about lots of different things that interest me and it would seem that Hive is idea for doing so. The groups are definitely helpful for finding like minded people.
No problems with that on HIVE at all! Just post your post to the specific community (and tribe) and you are good to go! There are many bloggers who write about different topics!
