Today I wanted to post a review about a song from one of my favorite band "Red Hot Chili Peppers" (American rock band formed in Hollywood ,Los Angeles), this song is called Californication and it was released in 1999. when this song was released, Flea called it the best record the RHCP have ever made."

Californication is a song about the deterioration of society, it shows how the world is becoming very superficial and plastic.

RHCP's Californication was influenced by a 30 minutes instrumental song from "The Cure" which it was called "Carnage Visors" (released on 1981 and it was a score for a movie).

There are some lines in this lyrics which references to Cobain and Bowie and a song from "Hole" band (Celebrity Skin), and Alderaan which it is a planet from Star wars movie which was destroyed by the empire and by saying that they mean that the world is being destroyed.

In many lines of the lyrics we can see that it is telling us about the plastic and unrealistic image that Hollywood sells to the world & yet how people trying to reach those goals (fame and being forever young image).

These lines of lyrics are about fame:
"Little girls from Sweden dream of silver screen quotations."

"And buy me a star on the boulevard, It's Californication."

And this line is about being forever young (the image that Hollywood sells):
"Pay your surgeon very well to break the spell of aging"

And in this line, It tells us that Hollywood sells a fake image:
"Space may be the final frontier but it's made in a Hollywood basement."

I hope you enjoyed reading and listening to this song, please leave a comment below and write your opinion about this song.
