This is my review about "Enjoy The Silence" Reinterpreted by Mike Shinoda and its Original version by Depeche Mode

in HIVESICIANS3 years ago

This is Depeche Mode's Enjoy The Silence which it is Reinterpreted By Mike Shinoda from LinkinPark , I love both of these bands, Dave Gahan's vocals is so special and Mike Shinoda's music production is just amazing, in this track we can even feel the vibe of LinkinPark with a Depche Mode mood a great mix. This song was originally recorded in 1989 and released in 1990 (That's also the same year that I was born) from their Violator album. and its Reinterpreted version was released in 2004.

Depche Mode is an English electronic music band and their genres are vary from Alternative rock, synth-pop, dance-pop and Electronic Music. "Enjoy The Silence" was first written by Martin Gore which he created a ballad-like as its first version, but later the band changed it as Alan Wilder insistence to rework the song and changing its tempo to an up-tempo version.

Later in 2004 Mike Shinoda produced a fresh and powerful version of this song which it is a Reinterpreted of the song, he made it like how great he was producing songs for LinkinPark, and we can hear those elements like we heard in Numb or other songs from Linkinpark, The drums samples and piano and the Electric Guitar riffs sounds really amazing on this track, The Synths and back Vox which those are also synth added a nice mood to the song, after the first verse it goes to a climax with too much power in it with Electric Guitar power chord riffs with long sustain and real Drums performing so heavy and a nice synths as the main melody, the next part is going forward until it reaches the chorus where there is vocals and more layers added like piano, the next part comes with the solo which Mike changed its section and added it in the middle of the song. it gets back to a quiet part where we can hear some DJ effects and the main melody which performs with synthesizer and at the end it gets back to the second chorus and right after that there is the final section we can hear both main melody of the song and the other melody which Mike mixed both of them on each other perfectly and it is really feels great how they are matched on each other.

The music video is directed by Uwe Flade, he is a German director. he created an animation video which it also contains videos of the band taken from various live performances ("One Night In Paris" ,"Devotional", & MTV-filmed "The Singles Tour" from Germany, Cologne).

The music video can have different meanings but from my opinion it can mean that it is a war between the machine world and the nature, which at the end nature (that flower) captures the big company which it is full of computers and people are working away from nature, it can also have a political meaning like a revolution or a fight with slavery system.

So I also decided to share its original version here:

The original music video was directed by Anton Corbijn, he used references from themes & storyline of philosophical book, The Little Prince from Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. In the music video Dave Gahan dressed as a stereotypical king walking in different places on the hillsides of the Scottish Highlands and also coast of the Algarve in Portugal and the last scenes was in Swiss Alps with a deck chair. The other scene was showing the band and it is a black and white footage and a scene of roses which it was also used for their album's cover.
Corbijn also explained this music video about "a man (The King in the video) with everything in the world, just looking for a quiet place to sit"

I hope you enjoyed reading and listening to this song while watching these amazing music videos,
