This is my review about "The Waiting Game" | a music by Kalandra

in HIVESICIANS3 years ago

Hi guys, this song is called The Waiting Game, It is nice to see such a creative work by a Norwegian band "Kalandra" because most of the media is in the hands of USA's artists so It is also special to me when I see something like this.

The Waiting Game is a Pop song with elements from Rock music, it is released in 2020, this music is composed and arranged and produced by Florian Bernhard Winter, Jogeir Daae Mæland and Katrine Stenbekk. The song starts with an ambient sound (cold air) a feeling like you are in a snowy place in winter, then a clean guitar starts playing mute palm while it also has a nice reverb on it, in 0:22 the bass line reminds me of Fever Ray's bass line in If I Had Heart, I love that bass sound, it has a nice warm sound,Katrine Stenbekk (Vocalist) starts singing softly and emotionally, the vocals delay and reverb fits well in that part, there are some fade in and fade out noises in the background, then there is some nice clean guitar arpeggio added and we can also hear some distortion lead guitar in the background, in 1:32 drums kick starts with a low volume, in the climax parts she sings falsetto so beautifully, the drums perform complete in the second verse, and the second chorus starts while there is some vocals backs adding a nice harmony to the main vocals. then in the bridge part, the melodies starts while the drums perform like swing with toms, piano plays the melody along with vocals singing, there is cool change in the chords and nice reverb on drums and vocals then it gets back to the 3rd chorus section. 3:56 there is an outro which I think this is only for the video as it is like a movie, when the guy dies and his heart stops she gives his soul back to him (like a love story, the tensions between to lovers) at the end the song ends with an air sound which it leads to the intro of the song and the music keeps playing for the cast section which I think it is only for the video version.

I hope you guys liked this review, best wishes for you guys!

I've not heard of this band, but I like the song. They found some dramatic scenery for the video. Looks like it would be hard work to film it.

!BEER

I can feel what happened there, this project was funded and they did not had a big team, it was surely hard, the camera man is so pro he recorded without any cut, as you can see it is hard to walk in those snows and then we see the camera is moving so fast and going away from characters, I dont know how he do that, but I guess he is running which it is also hard to control and not falling :D , the video reminds me of a video game called Last of Us, it had some scenes like this.
Thanks for the comment my friend.
