Today markes the day in Presby education week celebrate for the whole Ghana as we opened up last Monday being launching through street walk or floating.

In each we introduce new thing in the education week to get more attention and increase the happiness of many students. So, education week committee decided to design something different which would surpass the previous years all to make our students and teachers happy. Today being Thursday and fourth day, they planned full package of Indoor games such as Tag & war, spoon & lime race, sack race, arm wrestling and eating competition.

Before these indoor games, we fixed Quiz competition for the junior High students to compete on sectional base to prepare the mind for the other indoor games. This took place in exactly 9 am to 11 am. The four (4) were "Grace, Nana Amankwah, Kwame Nkrumah and Ramseyer." At the end of the quiz, Ramseyer emerged first position in this quiz competition.

We break the students for 30mins to find something to eat so that we could continue with the other indoor games. By this time, we involved the Primary school students to cheer them up in order not to leave them idle.

The first indoor games we opened up with is "spoon & lime race" between primary 1, 2 & 3. This is where the moment of happiness 😊 began as these kids were cheerfully moving with the spoon and lime. The distance of movement was from the beginning of the our school field to the center of the field. We continued with the upper primary as soon as the lower primary completed. This comprised primary 4, 5 and 6. The competitors were very serious to win. At the end, the primary 4 won in this spoon & lime race.

We got to the Junior High level. For them, it was done in sectional base to able able to select the overall winner πŸ† for all the indoor games. As usual, we selected each member from each section for both boys and girls to represent their sections, that's Grace, Nana Amankwah, Kwame Nkrumah and Ramseyer. The competition was so tight to the extent that each section wanted to win for his or her section. But, at the end, Nana Amankwah won for boys and Ramseyer won for girls.

We continued with the sack race. This was also another interesting πŸ€” part to increase laughter. The rule of this game is that, the competitors should be able to run or walk while inside the sack to the distance given. If the competitor remove the sack and walk or run with his or her bare feet, then it disqualify his or her race. We began with the upper primary and finished with the Junior high students. Again, we were able to identify the sections who won and recorded the points as were.

It was such hilarious πŸ˜‚ to see these students running with the sacks

We wanted to find out how certain talented student are very fast enough to fill bottles using their hands. We began with the upper primary for both boys and girls. Since they are too young, we gave them cups to be used to fill each of the bottle of the same size. The competitor who is able to fill his or her bottle and closes with the cork or lid, wins in this game. The competitor would be disqualified if he or she rather use the bottle to fetch the water in the container of basin. The primary six won for his team. The Junior High level was done in sectional base using their hands. It was so funny 🀣 to see those who were fast to fill the bottle and close with the cork within the exact time allowed.

We wanted to test students strength in professional way, so we allowed the Jurniir high students to compete in Arm wrestling. This was also done in sectional base both boys and girls. It was so good to reveal the talents that some of these students have. Sometimes is not all about classroom learning, but if students can use his or her psychomotor skills and cognitive skills to do something,we can help them to develop their talents from there.

Our last indoor game was "Eating competition." This is the most interesting πŸ€” part most students prefer to fix themselves. since they would by all means fill their Bellies after all if they lose. This eating competition was done in three parts: eating bread with mineral drinks, eating apple 🍏 in water from a container and eating a tied apple in air. Each member from their sections were selected. The first eating competition was "eating bread with mineral drink 🍷 for both boys and girls. The rule of this game is that, the competitor should be able to eat the bread with the drink without seeing any particles of the food in his or her mouth within the time space given. The competitor would be disqualified if found to throw the bread or drink away just for the judges to declare him or her winner for finishing on time. Full bread 🍞 was split into 2 equal halves. So each member of selected section was given a half of full bread with puma drink. Five (5) was given as time space to eat all the bread with the drink from their mouths πŸ‘„.

eating of bread with mineral drinks

This is the most interesting πŸ€” and difficult game as competitors were allowed to eat apple 🍏 from a basin that contain water and eating a tied apple suspended in air with string. Both game weren't easy since the apples have become slippery due to water that has been rapped. The boys were given the apples in water with basin, while the girls were also allowed to chew the apple that has been suspended in air. The rule was that, each competitor should not touch the basin or the apples in the water or in the air. So, they were asked to put their hands at the back while chewing. It was so funny as some of the girls couldn't chew their apples due to the water that has been poured on the apples. Some were also fast to manage to chew all before the time given.

We completed all the games at exactly 2:55 pm. We assembled all the students at the parade ground to announce the overall winner in this indoor games to them. Combining the points from quiz and all the games, we have "Ramseyer" on top of the game as the overall winner in this indoor games competition.

In conclusion,

We bring to the attention of Hivians that, the education week has not ended yet, so watch out for more on tomorrow are we crown πŸ‘‘ this maiden education week celebration πŸ₯³πŸŽ‰ with lots of football matches between our Sister schools tomorrow. Sunday would be our Thanksgiving service too. Stay tune!!

Oh God! I don't envy them, but it looks like it was a fun day for them and for the teachers too. The truth is, these days are needed as otherwise school becomes boring.

That's true @erikah. If not some of these games to make students excited, schools would be full of teaching and learning. But all work and no play, make jack a dull boy.

Thanks very much for your good comment.

My pleasure!
