Hello, Dear Hivers! | Hola, Queridos Hivers!
Last Wednesday I went to Margarita Island with juvenile symphonic choir of Cumaná to sing at the mass of La Virgen del Valle's decent (la bajada), a special event in the whole east of the country.
The event was on Thursday, so we traveled one day before to have time to rehearse with margarita's musicians and to rest the body after the long journey. My teacher says that you can't sing very well if your body is tired, so for us, resting is something super super important!
When we arrived, we went to our hotel rooms to take some air (because it was too hot inside the ferry), order our stuff, and then went downstairs to rehearse in a special room.
After that, the order was to go to bed early. The big day was the next evening, and we had a lot of work to do!
In other news, my partner and I were fascinated with the room! It was great!
We had air conditioner, a huge bed, a huge TV, a great bathroom with hot water!!... We were really excited!
The next day, we woke up early to have breakfast and finalize some details with the musicians.
Before going to the rehearsal room, we stopped at the pool area to breathe some fresh air ... And to take pictures at the cute swing beside the pool. EVERY ONE OF US had their picture taken there. How funny! Lol.
After the rehearsal, we all went to our rooms to get ready. We had to be at 3:00pm at El Valle to test sound, and the bus was coming to pick us at 2:30pm.
The getting ready part was my favorite hehe.
All the girls went to our room to get their hair and make up done. It was very funny! My partner, Vic, was in charge of the make up, while another partner made the hair do's.
I did my own make up, cause I'm good at it... Can't say the same about my hairdo.
Already at El Valle, they took us to the parish house to have lunch... And what a heavy lunch! It was delicious 😋
And after some waiting, we went to the place we were going to sing at (beside the church) to test sound.
It was all so beautiful! The place was crowded and there were all kinds of sellers... It was definitely a huge party!
We made the test, and almost immediately, the mass begun... It was just perfect!
It was a great experience! I really loved sharing with all my partners in such a special event. I hope we get to do it again very soon ✨
