Last week, I was quite absent from the community, since on Saturday December 3rd was the wedding of my younger brother in the city of Santiago de Chile.
It was a week in which I was very busy and focused on the preparations for the trip and fine-tuning some details of the gifts that I would give to the bride and groom, Frank and Angelica.
Although the wedding took place on December 3rd, my husband and I agreed to go to Santiago on November 30th to have more time to share a little more with my sister, Delia and my nephew Mathias who traveled from Venezuela for our brother's wedding. I had not seen my sister and nephew since I came to Chile about 5 years ago. I was really excited to see them again.
On top of all that, I was also very happy because I was going to meet my other little niece, Meghan, my brother Frank's last baby.
Well, to get into context, I will briefly tell you how the relationship of the bride and groom came about. They are Otorhinolaryngology specialists. They met during the time they were doing their postgraduate studies, in 2011. There they fell in love and that is where their love and admiration for each other was born. After graduating from the specialty, in 2014 they traveled to Mexico City to take a 6-month course called Fellow in Rhinology and Facial Surgery and Endoscopic Sinus Surgery. Then, they returned to Venezuela where they were practicing for several years. However, in 2016, due to all the situation that the country was going through, they decided to emigrate to Chile and it has been this beautiful land that has given them the opportunity to expand professionally and form a beautiful family.
After 10 years together, time in which they have learned to know all their virtues and defects and which they have been able to use to strengthen their relationship as a couple, my brother took the big step, asking my sister-in-law to marry him on Valentine's Day. She accepted and they made the decision to get married and reaffirm their love.
On December 1st, my husband and I arrived in Santiago in the afternoon to an apartment rented by my brother in the Las Condes district for the whole family to be there on the groom's side. Unfortunately, my mother could not attend because her passport had expired. Therefore, my sister and I were the ones who accompanied my brother to his wedding.
That same day in the evening, we gathered at Frank's house. Undoubtedly, it was a moment of reunions, tears of emotion and joy, food, toasts, gifts and a lot of happiness, since we were together after so long without seeing each other.
The wedding gift we gave to the bride and groom was a painting painted in watercolor on cotton paper and framed with passe-partout. The passe-partout is a kind of cardboard used to frame paintings and allows the work to last over time, since it is an acid-free material. It is important for me to point out that I made this gift with a lot of love and with my own hands, but Fernando @n4nd0 had the framing done.
I also made an additional painting with the name of my nieces, Amanda and Meghan and some bookmarks. I also made something similar for my sisters Delia and Yanaky. Yanaky, who also lives in Venezuela and although she could not be at the wedding sharing with us, she was in our hearts because we kept her up to date with all the events of this beautiful and exciting celebration.
The next day in the morning, we went with my sister Delia and my nephew to get to know a little bit of Las Condes and we arrived to a mall that we loved, the Mall Parque Arauca. Here we did some shopping before the big day and where I gave Mathias his Christmas present in advance. Also, we had lunch at the food fair or food court as it is called here in Chile and then we went back to the apartment to rest to be in optimal conditions for the wedding.
On Saturday December 3rd, the day of the wedding; my sister, my nephew, Fernando and I were at the hairdresser's at 11 am doing our hair and haircuts. When we finished doing our hair, we went back to the apartment to have lunch. Previously, we had left lunch ready to arrive by heating it in the microwave and eating, as we had to be at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel at 3 pm, where the wedding would be held and where we had a room reserved until 12 noon the next day and entitled to breakfast, courtesy of the groom.
We arrived at the hotel at the agreed time, we were greeted by my brother, we did the check-in and then went up to the room to get ready, because the event started at 5:30 pm in the pool area of the hotel.
Delia whom you can find on instagram as @deliaelenanave and @mimamipediatra, was in charge of grooming and combing the groom to make him look impeccable and receive the bride.
When we were all dressed up, we went down with the groom to the pool area and that's where my sister and I had the honor of giving my little brother down the aisle. My nephew, Mathias walked in front of us with a sign hanging around his neck that said "Que vivan los Novios" (Long live the Bride and Groom).
Next, the bride made her triumphant and joyful entrance holding Diego's arm, her oldest son, and he gave her to the groom who was at the altar waiting for his beloved, Angelica.
During the ceremony, the bride and groom pronounced their wedding vows. The truth is that this was a very emotional moment because they said what made them fall in love with each other and why they chose each other to form a family and be together for the rest of their lives. I think all of us present cried when the bride and groom expressed their love. It was as if we were surrounded by angels. There was a beautiful vibe.
At the end of the ceremony, there was a toast to the bride and groom. Also, in the same area of the pool were waiting some stations of drinks, grilled meat, ceviche and shawarma to offer to the guests.
Finally, a half hour later, we moved to the Atacama room where all the fun began with live music, lots of dancing, food and drinks. All in true Venezuelan style, hahahahahaha!
The event ended around 4 am and those who were staying at the hotel went to rest and get some sleep. But, before 10 a.m. we went down to have a delicious gourmet breakfast and a very hot and strong coffee.
To conclude, I want to express that I feel very proud of my brother and his wife Angelica, because little by little they have been overcoming all adversities and with much love, effort and sacrifices have achieved everything they have proposed in their lives, especially their dream wedding that was not only a wonderful and unforgettable event for them and for all present, but also celebrated and sealed their union with the greatest power of the universe, love that also intertwined their lives with such strength that not even time will be able to untie it.

Hola, mi linda gente de Hive! Espero se encuentren muy bien y con fuerzas para seguir adelante.
La semana pasada, estuve bastante ausente de la comunidad, dado que el sábado 03 de Diciembre fue la boda de mi hermano menor en la ciudad de Santiago de Chile.
Fue una semana en la que me mantuve muy ocupada y enfocada en los preparativos del viaje y afinando algunos detalles de los regalos que entregaría a los novios, Frank y Angélica.
Aunque la boda se celebró el 03 de diciembre, mi esposo y yo acordamos irnos a Santiago el 30 de noviembre para tener más tiempo y compartir un poco más con mi hermana, Delia y mi sobrino Mathías que viajaron desde Venezuela para la boda de nuestro hermano. No veía a mi hermana y a mi sobrino desde que me vine a Chile hace 5 años aproximadamente. La verdad, estaba muy emocionada por verlos de nuevo.
Aunado a todo eso, también estaba muy contenta porque conocería a mi otra sobrinita, Meghan la última bebé de mi hermano, Frank.
Bueno, para entrar en contexto, les contaré brevemente cómo surgió la relación de los novios. Ellos son médicos especialistas en otorrinolaringología. Se conocieron durante el tiempo que estuvieron haciendo el postgrado, en el 2011. Ahí se enamoraron y fue donde nació su amor y admiración del uno por el otro. Después de haberse graduado de la especialidad, en el 2014 viajan a la ciudad de México para realizar un curso de 6 meses llamado Fellow en Rinología y Cirugía Facial y Cirugía Endoscópica de Senos Paranasales. Luego, regresaron a Venezuela donde estuvieron ejerciendo por varios años. Sin embargo, en el 2016, a raíz de toda la situación por la que estaba atravesando el país, decidieron emigrar a Chile y ha sido esta hermosa tierra la que les ha dado la oportunidad de expandirse profesionalmente y formar una linda familia.
Luego de 10 años juntos, tiempo en el que han aprendido a conocer todas sus virtudes y defectos y las cuales han sabido usar para fortalecer su relación de pareja, mi hermano dio el gran paso, pidiéndole matrimonio a mi cuñada el Día de San Valentín. Ella aceptó y de esta manera tomaron la decisión de casarse y reafirmar su amor.
El 01 de Diciembre, mi esposo y yo llegamos a Santiago en la tarde a un apartamento que alquiló mi hermano en la comuna de las Condes para que estuviera toda la familia por parte del novio. Lamentablemente, mi mamá no pudo asistir porque tenía el pasaporte vencido. Por consiguiente, mi hermana y yo fuimos las que acompañamos a mi hermano en su boda.
Ese mismo día en la noche, nos reunimos en casa de Frank. Sin lugar a dudas, fue un momento de reencuentros, de lágrimas de emoción y alegría, comida, brindis, regalos y muchas felicidad, pues estábamos juntos después de tanto tiempo sin vernos.
El regalo de boda que entregamos a los novios fue un cuadro pintado en acuarela sobre papel de algodón y enmarcado con paspartú. El paspartú es una especie de cartón que se usa para enmarcar cuadros y permite que la obra dure en el tiempo, dado que es un material libre de ácido. Para mí es importante señalar que este regalo lo hice con mucho amor y con mis propias manos, menos el enmarcado que fue mandado a hacer por Fernando @n4nd0
También hice una pintura adicional con el nombre de mis sobrinas, Amanda y Meghan y unos marcalibros. Asimismo, aproveché e hice algo parecido para mis hermanas Delia y Yanaky. Esta última, también vive en Venezuela y aunque no pudo estar en la boda compartiendo con nosotros, estuvo de corazón porque la mantuvimos al tanto de todo los acontecimientos de esta hermosa y emocionante celebración.
El día siguiente en la mañana, fuimos con mi hermana Delia y mi sobrino a conocer un poco las Condes y llegamos a un mall que nos encantó, el Mall Parque Arauca. Aquí hicimos algunas compras previas al gran día y donde le obsequié por adelantado el regalo de navidad a Mathías. También, almorzamos en la feria de comida o patio de comida como le dice acá en Chile y luego nos regresamos al apartamento a descansar para estar en óptimas condiciones para la boda.
El sábado 03 de Diciembre, el día de la boda; mi hermana, mi sobrino, Fernando y yo estábamos a las 11 de la mañana en la peluquería haciéndonos los peinados y los cortes de pelo. Al terminar de arreglarnos los cabellos, regresamos al apartamento a almorzar. Previamente, habíamos dejado el almuerzo listo para llegar calentándolo en el microondas y comer, por cuanto que teníamos que estar en el Hotel Mandarín Oriental a las 3 de la tarde, lugar donde se celebraría la boda y donde teníamos una habitación reservada hasta las 12 del mediodía del día siguiente y con derecho a desayuno, cortesía del novio.
Llegamos al hotel a la hora acordada, fuimos recibidos por mi hermano, hicimos el check-in y luego subimos a la habitación a arreglarnos, pues el evento empezaba a las 5 y media de la tarde en el área de la piscina del mismo hotel.
Delia, a quien pueden encontrar en Instagram como @deliaelenanave y @mimamipediatra, se encargó de arreglar y peinar al novio para que estuviera impecable y recibir a la novia.
Cuando estábamos todos vestidos de gala, bajamos con el novio al área de la piscina y ahí fue donde mi hermana y yo tuvimos el honor de entregar a mi hermanito en el altar. Mi sobrino, Mathías iba delante de nosotros con un cartel colgado en el cuello que decía “Que vivan los Novios”
Seguidamente, la novia hizo su entrada triunfal y alegre tomada del brazo de Diego, su niño mayor y él la entregó al novio que estaba en el altar esperando a su amada, Angélica.
Durante la ceremonia, los novios pronunciaron sus votos matrimoniales. La verdad, es que ese fue un momento muy emotivo porque dijeron lo qué los enamoró del otro y por qué se eligieron para formar una familia y acompañarse el resto de sus vidas. Creo que todos los presentes lloramos cuando los novios manifestaron su amor. Fue como si estábamos rodeados de ángeles. Se sintió una vibra muy bonita.
Al culminar la ceremonia, hubo un brindis por los novios. También, en esa misma área de la piscina estaban esperando unas estaciones de bebidas, carne asada, ceviche y shawarma para ofrecer a los invitados.
Finalmente, una media hora después, pasamos al salón Atacama donde comenzó toda la diversión con música en vivo, mucho baile, comidas y bebidas. Todo al estilo muy venezolano como Dios manda. ¡Jajajajaja!
El evento terminó a eso de las 4 de la madrugada y los que se estaban hospedando en el hotel, se fueron a descansar y a dormir un poco. Pero, antes de las 10 de la mañana bajamos a tomar un rico desayuno gourmet y un cafecito bien calentito y cargadito.
Para concluir, quiero expresar que me siento muy orgullosa de mi hermano y su esposa Angélica, porque poco a poco han ido superando todas las adversidades y con mucho amor, esfuerzo y sacrificios han logrado todo lo que se han propuesto en sus vidas, en especial su boda soñada que no solo fue un acontecimiento maravilloso e inolvidable para ellos y para todos los presentes, sino que también celebraron y sellaron su unión con el poder más grande del universo, El Amor que además, entrelazó sus vidas con tanta fuerza que ni siquiera el tiempo podrá desatarlo.
