My Personal Office Space - My Haven as an I.T. Professional

Greetings!

When we work, go to work, or doing our job there's a place where we mostly work or do our job, we commonly called it the workplace. The workplace is where we accomplish all the jobs at hand with the ultimate goal of achieving company profitability and sustainability.

Aside from the workplace, there's also the personal office space where we do our job in a work from home setup. After a day of work from home, the personal office space is also the place where we mostly do our personal chores like playing games, socializing with friends, watching videos, and reading.

When we are talking about the personal office space we can see how personal it could be because it reflects our personality. It reflects our personality just on how we organize and design our personal spaces. As for me, I have my own favorites for designing and organizing my personal office space thus reflecting my personality.

But before I discuss my personal office space favorites I would like to share with you my current workplace setup and my current personal office space.

Sharing my Current Workplace Setup before I Discuss My Personal Office Space Favorites

Here's my current workplace setup where I do my job as a Professional I.T. Professional. As you can see, my table has minimal content thus adhering to my minimal preference for office and home designs.

On a normal day (not a busy day) my table would only consist of a computer monitor a keyboard, a mouse, and a telephone (that telephone will begin to ring as soon as my co-employees know that I already arrived at my workplace).

On a busy day, my table would look like the photo below, some sort of paper can be seen. But before I go home I'll make sure that I will keep them in my table's drawer (don't mind the red-colored garment on my chair though, it's a hoodie).

Sharing My Current Personal Office Space Before I Discuss My Favorite Personal Office Space

And here's how my current personal office space looks like. It may not look like a real personal office space but I get the chores done when I start sitting in front of my laptop.

I cannot afford to buy a larger table because our narrow home space prohibits me to buy one. As you can see, I bought a small portable table. The small pillow is where I sit (just like a yoga sit) when I start to do chores on my laptop. I am actually writing this article right on this setup.

My First Favorite Personal Office Space (if I use a laptop)

If I use a laptop I would like to have my personal office space just like the photo below. It would consist of a monitor interfaced to the laptop by using an HDMI cable or VGA cable (because my laptop monitor is small). I would like my mouse and keyboard to be wireless to reduce the clutter on the table. Also, I would also add a wireless speaker and wireless headphones. My chair would be a swivel chair. The table would be white in color adding brightness to my personal office space ambiance.

I chose this setup because it reduces the clutter, less clutter, less stress. I chose this setup because of its bright ambiance (a bright personal office is a great place to work in a work-from-home environment). I chose this setup because of its minimal setup.

I think this setup is important in work from home scenarios because the setup itself presents little to no stress making your work from home more productive.

My Second Favorite Personal Office Space (if I use a desktop computer)

If I use a desktop I would like my personal office space to be like the photo below. It would consist of a computer monitor, a wireless keyboard (though the keyboard in the photo is not wireless), a wireless mouse, a wireless speaker (2.1 Channel Speaker), of course, if I can find exactly the same chair just like in the photo, I would love to have that chair. The computer's system unit would be place underneath the table and a plant would be added close to the computer's system unit. Because plants are known to absorb heat they would absorb some of the heat coming from the computer's system unit. I would also add a UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) to protect my desktop's system unit from power surges and sudden power loss.

I chose this setup because it has a minimal touch, I chose to add plants on this setup because plants are known to absorb heat.

I think this setup is important to work from home scenarios because of its ample space enabling you to move freely whenever you are working. I think this setup is important because not only that plants are known to absorb heat they also emit oxygen (oxygen is a vital element in human breathing, without air or oxygen we cannot breathe). Also, plants absorb carbon dioxide, because computers are known to emit Carbon Dioxide, the plant can absorb some of the carbon dioxide being emitted by the computer (carbon dioxide is a culprit in global warming).

My Third Favorite Personal Office Space With an L-Type Table Design

Whether I would use a desktop or laptop I would like my personal office space to use an L-Type table just like the photo below. Everything would be wireless as much as possible (from mouse to keyboard, to speaker, etc.). I would also like to add a drawer just like in the photo to store my office paperwork. I would also like this setup of personal office space to have natural light coming from the sun (light would also be added for a brighter ambiance in case the sky is cloudy). If possible, I would like to have a chair just like in the photo. Also, if possible I would like to add the carpet on the floor of my personal office space.

I chose this setup because an L-type table is usually wide giving me ample space for my computer/laptop and paperwork.

Spacious personal office space is important because it gives ample room to move around. That's where an L-type table comes in, since an L-type table is usually spacious it can give you ample space for your computer and your paperwork just in one table (Computer/Laptop on one side, and paperwork on the other).

And there you have it, my three favorite personal office spaces, what about yours?

Until next time, keep safe.

We have standing desks at work, although I don't have them at home :(

Looks good although I think I'm getting to old for the desk on the floor.

Mee too, sometimes I get backache when sitting at the floor. But I cannot do aything about it right now since our home space is very limited.

About the standing desks at I work, I wish our workplace do have some.

Nice choices.

Thank you

That's very peaceful and clean spaces who chose. great article:)

Hello Jonathan, yes I totally agree, "less clutter, less stress." Removing the excess and unimportant things that don't contribute to productivity or motivate work is just visual pollution. Less distraction leads to better focus and mental clarity. Great post and contest entry!

You are absolutely right, they are just visual pollution, and yes, less distraction leads to better focus and mental clarity.
