Hello Hive,
Happy New Year!!!
To welcome 2021 with joyful cheer, the Architecture+Design Community has decided to join in the celebration by organizing a new contest for all our architecture and design enthusiasts out there.
We are a fairly-new tribe on the Hive social blockchain (launched last October 5, 2020), and if you've not heard about us yet, here's the Introduction Post to keep you up and running. Because we're still in the process of attracting more subscribers and content creators for our community, we hope to gain more momentum by organizing fun contests and curating worthwhile digital works for the benefit of our members, similar to what the other popular communities on Hive are currently doing.
Contest Topic: DREAM HOUSE
This is an interesting subject matter for our first contest that will be surely loved by most of us! Building a Dream House has been one of mankind's sought after aspirations. It takes a lot of time, talent, and treasure to invest in such undertakings - making it one of the most significant endeavors in the history of the world.
Interestingly, we would like to know your ideas on the types of dream houses you desire to have or have already achieved in your life. In your description of the photo of your dream house in the comments section, please include the following information:
Architectural Style - Modern, Contemporary, Classical, Futuristic, etc.
Preferred Site or Location of Dream House - Urban, Rural (Countryside), Beach, Mountain, Waterfall, Lakeside, etc.
Size of Dream House - Mansion, Bungalow, Townhouse, Villa, Cabin, City Home, Resort House, Tiny Home, etc
Building Materials used for the construction of your Dream House
Valid reasons for the selections you've made on the previous 4 guide points
We're super excited to see your answers to these questions. And as each of us have different design tastes and environmental inclinations, we look forward to witnessing this interesting mix of opinions and choices around the world for the perfect Dream House.

You're welcome. When it became a reality this community will be the first to know it.
Looking forward to that! Cheers!
Hi everyone, I designed this as part of a limited space assignment in uni, but the final design and CAD render was done much later. I thought this would make an ideal home because it is simple and meets all the basic needs for an individual living alone.
Ladies and gentlemen, my 'bachelor pad'. A simple place with a living room, kitchen, washroom, and upstairs sleeping quarters. It is open plan (except for the washroom) but I don't think it qualifies for a tiny house, though.
The ideal location for this is somewhere in the middle of nowhere. Preferably on top of a hill with a great view from the 'bedroom' balcony. If located among civilization it should not stand out but blend in, maybe using materials that match surrounding buildings, so materials and finishes are subject to decisions influenced by such criteria.
The whole idea is to keep things simple and easy to organize. I tend to wonder about people who keep large houses and probably don't get to visit all the rooms they put up. I once heard of a story of a man who hosted ladies that overstayed after a party for a week at his house without his knowledge.
Situations like the capacity for hosting guests and the possibility of having a large family are also factors that may change the overall design of this dream house.
Hello @martthesquire! Thank you for your entry to the contest! We’re amused by your story about the ladies who overstayed in a man’s large house without him knowing. Well, that’s what usually happens when several of the house guests engage with liquor haha. So we understand why you chose a bachelor’s pad for your dream house - it makes life easier and simpler!
Thanks!
This is my entry: https://peakd.com/hive-178708/@anggreklestari/my-dream-house-minimalist-countryside-house
