Hello everyone, I am @deltasteem from Indonesia who works as furniture in one of the cv furniture in Aceh the province of Indonesia and welcome to the end of May and as I said before this is my birth month, before I came my birthday.

My birthday falls on 23 May and in the two weeks before I celebrate Eid, namely in the month of fasting, I completed my personal project for my first daughter who was just 1.5 months old at the time.

This project can be said to be a bed project for my first beloved daughter.

So yesterday I just celebrated my 29th birthday and now I am 29 years old.

I just had the greatest gift of my life which is to have our first daughter named Arsyila.

He was born on the same date as my birth date, Arsyila was born on Wednesday 23 March 2021 and I was born on 23 May 1992 and in this year I have become a father.

As a furniture worker, I decided to make my baby crib project and I tried to make it with a design that I might be able to use from the age of my baby 2 months to 1.5 years old.

in the store, baby baskets are sold in several variations with various colors, but for terms the home furnishings I prefer to assemble them myself.

The baby bed basket project that you will see today, of course, is made from wood waste from the CV where I work, then I process this material into a very valuable object and maybe it will attract your attention.

Initially I planned to make this project in several natural wood colors so that it would look unique and to my liking for furniture with a variety of natural wood colors that are rarely sold in stores, but my wife prefers the dominant white color.

We just go straight to the process and maybe I will share with you how I made this project, maybe it can be useful for all of you and you can try it at home because I made this project with a very simple but interesting design!

To make it easier to do this, you need to prepare a large drilling machine (we call it a sit drill), a rauter, a chainsaw, a shaved machine, a hand grinder and a hand drill.

logo-3.png

The basic series of baby beds are all made from wood measuring 3.5 x 3cm and the walls around, I provide 1.2 x 2cm wood with a distance of 1.5cm after I put the parts in the circuit the result is like this.

IMG_20210429_153302.jpg

logo-3.png

IMG_20210429_153254.jpg

logo-3.png

After all the basic wall series I assembled, then I gave a support pole with a size of 3.5 x 3cm and at the bottom I gave 2 small drawers to put baby equipment, for the outer drawer wall I gave 0.5mm plywood and for more details you can see some of the pictures below ..

IMG_20210430_113028.jpg

logo-3.png

I made the height of this series of baby cots with the front and left-right dimensions of 75x75cm, the back wall of this basket measuring 80cm.

I made this size so that when my baby is 2 months to 1.5 years old I can still use the basket and I just need to make modifications to the floor.

For the modification process it is very simple and you can see all of that floor layout in the picture so that you can understand it easily and also for the inside, you can see the shape of the drawers and baby cot doors in some of these pictures, so you can understand them easily.

logo-3.png

So my child is still a baby, of course I only use this for the bed and make the floor of the basket rise a little with the help of a floor divider that I put on the wall (this is where the floor modification ) which I modified so that it can go up and down according to the baby's growth and when all the series the bed is almost done should look something like this

After all the parts of the series are finished, then I continue to paint with the dominant white color according to my wife's request and here I use oil paint with thinner, for the painting process I do it manually using a paint brush, and you can see all the processes here.

I do the painting process in stages up to 4 times repetition to get the perfect color quality and this is the result of the baby basket when everything is ready, the shape is simple and looks very luxurious this is my birthday gift to Arsyila ,is my first child who is only 2 month.

After everything was done, I immediately took him home, my wife loved it and my son slept very comfortably in his new bed,,

This is the result of my craft in turning wood waste into a valuable home furniture material that I can use in my daily life as my baby's crib basket.

Hopefully my way of working here can be useful for all of you, because this is one way to take advantage of the wood waste that is around you and to produce an interesting piece of furniture.

Thank you and my best regards @deltasteem.

Best wishes and congratulations to your little angel! It must have been a joy to be able to build this crib for her.
If I may, may I suggest to smoothen and curve all of the edges of all of the vertical wooden battens, as well as smoothening the finish of the horizontal bars for safety reasons? Well done nevertheless, not all children could say my Dad built me a crib. Cheers!
