Hello to all Hive friends! Another amazing building in the city of Buenos Aires and this is the headquarters of the Faculty of Economic Sciences, which belongs to the University of Buenos Aires known by its abbreviation UBA and is located on the border between two neighborhoods, which are Balvanera and Recoleta, in front of this building is the Houssay square.
It is an imposing building as is customary in Buenos Aires especially for schools of the UBA generally have a resemblance in its construction and styles, in terms of Doric style columns. This building was built in the early 1900s.
Hola a todos amigos de Hive! Otro asombro edificio en la ciudad de Buenos Aires y se trata de la sede de la facultad de ciencias económicas, la cual pertenece a la universidad de Buenos Aires conocida por su abreviatura UBA y se encuentra ubicada en el límite entre dos barrios, los cuales son Balvanera y Recoleta, frente a este edificio se encuentra la plaza Houssay.
Es un edificio imponente como se acostumbra a realizarse en Buenos Aires especialmente para las escuelas de la UBA generalmente tienen un parecido en su edificación y estilos, en cuanto a columnas de estilo dórico. Este edificio fue construido a principios de los años 1900.
The headquarters of the school of economic sciences since its inauguration went through different locations in different buildings of the city and by the mid-1900s it became part of this work that we are currently talking about, which has an Art Deco style.
It is the faculty of the University of Buenos Aires that houses more students than others, in such a way that the students who study at the Faculty of Medicine, which is located in front of it, also go to this building to receive activities.
La sede de la escuela de ciencias económicas desde su inauguración paso por diferentes ubicaciones en distintos edificios de la ciudad y para mediados de los años 1900 fue que pasó a formar parte del esta obra de la que actualmente estamos hablando que tiene un estilo Art Deco.
Es la facultad de la Universidad de Buenos Aires que alberga más estudiantes que otras de tal manera que los estudiantes que cursan carreras en la facultad de medicina la cual se encuentra frente a ésta también concurren a ésta sede para recibir actividades.
This work is located on Cordoba Avenue and has an extension of almost a complete block made up of different streets where it also has different accesses. Covered by numerous windows and a triangular shape on the surface that seems to be more like a kind of cathedral or church.
It also has engraved on the surface of its facade sculptures with faces and busts characteristic of the Greek architectural style, as well as figures and a central statue where the flag of Argentina is anchored.
These are the architectural buildings that have more heritage value in the country and many house universities where most have easy access to it by public transport. In the case of this faculty one of the immediate access is by the subway of Buenos Aires in the station called faculty of medicine.
Ésta obra se encuentra ubicada en la avenida Córdoba y tiene una extensión de casi una manzana completa constituida por diferentes calles en dónde además tiene diferentes accesos. Cubierta por numerosos ventanales y una forma triangular en la superficie que pareciera que fuese más bien un tipo de catedral o iglesia.
También tiene grabado en la superficie de su fachada esculturas con rostros y bustos característico del estilo arquitectónico griego, así como también se encuentran eno más alto del edificio figuras y una estatua central donde está además ancladaa bandera de Argentina.
Estas son los edificios arquitectónicos que más valor patrimonial tienen en el país y muchos albergan universidades dónde la mayoría tienen un fácil acceso a ella por medio del transporte público. En el caso de esta facultad uno de los acceso inmediatos es por el subterráneo de Buenos Aires en la estación llamada facultad de medicina.
Finally, we can mention the careers that are taught in this faculty, which are administration, economics and public accounting. The building has more than 8000 square meters of covered area and is divided into 6 floors plus the first floor.
Personally, I am impressed to imagine being able to study in a building with such imposing architecture and think that the experience should be phenomenal, being part of a school that has a history of more than a century and that was built under the exemplary European styles with materials brought from France, Italy or England. It is like traveling back in time.
Para finalizar podemos mencionar las carreras que se dictan en esta facultad, las cuales se tratan de administración, economía y contaduría pública. El edificio cuenta con más de 8000 metros cuadrados respecto a superficie cubierta y está dividida en 6 pisos más la planta baja.
Personalmente me causa una impresión imaginarme poder cursar estudios en sedes con tal imponente arquitectura y pensar que la experiencia debería ser fenomenal, formar parte de una casa de estudios que tiene historia de más de un siglo y que fue construida bajo los ejemplares estilos europeos con materiales traídos de Francia, Italia o Inglaterra. Es como viajar en el tiempo.

Un dato de color algo tetrico acerca de la FCE:
Anteriormente, en ese edificio se encontraba la antigua facultad de Medicina (por eso el nombre de la estacion de subte). Con el tiempo, Medicina se mudo en frente y quedo ese edificio para Economicas. Lo curioso es que nunca trasladaron la morgue que se encuentra sobre Uriburu. Hay algunas aulas dan alli cerca y se escuchan los gritos o el llanto de personas que van a reconocer familiares o amigos… es un tanto lugubre cursar en las aulas de la planta baja!

This is certainly a beautiful building. I appreciated all of the information you shared about it: both its architectural style and history.
What really caught my eye was the slanted railing around the walkway leading to the building. And then, I saw the stairs leading down the grassy knoll, and I wondered: what's down there? lol I am easily distracted!
