I had a brilliant idea, in these last days I was watching a lot of content in other communities and it occurred to me to promote an initiative in this community of creatives. What I am referring to is a new initiative called "My Homeland Architecture Challenge".
Rules:
I see that multiple users are showing us the architecture of the city among other places of interest, so this initiative encourages us to show the place where we live in which we feel at home, that sense of belonging. Be careful, the aforementioned is from an architectural or design point of view, that is, a content must be addressed regarding that topic. To be more explicit, the idea of this initiative is NOT to show photos without context, or posts as if you were sightseeing in a city. So we are going to comply with this so that it is fair and we do not leave the issue in relation to the community in which we are.
Now I go with my post, unlike the others, I will be a little brief so as not to make this so gigantic this.
Tuve una idea brillante, estuve en estos ultimos dias viendo mucho contenido en otras comunidades y se me ocurrió en promover una iniciativa en esta comunidad de creativos. A lo que me refiero es una Nueva iniciativa llamada "My Homeland Architecture Challenge".

Veo que multiples usuarios nos estan mostrandola arquitectura de ciudad entre otros sitios de interés, entonces esta iniciativa promueve que mostremos el lugar donde habitamos en la cual nos sentimos en casa, ese sentido de pertenencia. Ojo, lo anteriormente dicho es desde el punto de vista arquitectónico o del diseño, es decir que se debe abordar un contenido respecto a ese tema. Para ser más explícito, la idea de esta iniciativa NO es mostrar fotos sin contexto, ni posts como si estuviera turisteando en una ciudad. Asi que vamos a cumplircon esto para que sea justo y no nos salgamos de tema en relación a la comunidad en que estamos.
Ahora voy con mi post, a diferencia de los otros, seré algo breve para no hacer esto tan gigante.
The city of Valencia, Carabobo state, Venezuela, although it is not my hometown, is where I studied and therefore I feel very comfortable with it. This city from its colonial beginning has been modernizing, where it currently has a combination of large buildings and very humble houses in a sectorized way, in some places through organized urban planning and in others through the spontaneous construction of the lower class. In this first photo we will see an example of the tall buildings that I mentioned, in the 90s this building was born and is called La Torre Stratos, very famous for its location in the middle of the avenue as you will appreciate, also for its great work of art on its facade , a kinetic film by the great Venezuelan artist Carlos Cruz Diez.
Now I want to show you how the buildings are inhabiting in different reliefs despite the mountain that we see in the background, in this photo we see a variety of upper-middle-class residential complexes and there are also houses but they are not visualized by the trees
In the next view we are in another of the main avenues of the city, La Cedeño, in this you can see these large towers and other buildings mostly commercial - 1-floor offices
Now let's look at another example of good architecture, the Hesperia hotel, is a 5-star hotel belonging to a Spanish chain, located on a strategic road with a lot of traffic flow and that connects with another road that connects with the international airport. This work was inaugurated in 2009. Currently this hotel has the largest presidential suite in the country.
And finally in the last photo we will see a view from the center of Valencia, where I mentioned in one of my previous post that the neocolonial style predominates to maintain an identity to this tourist and historical center of the city.
To finish I want to comment that my oil country had a vanguard of great works since there was what was the important private investment and international companies interested in locating in my country. This is why I showed you a variety of works. Currently my country does not attract private investment and many companies went bankrupt, left or were expropriated by the government (a phrase widely used in socialist governments in robbing the rich to make it their own, believe it or not, this action is a law without default). There are very few buildings that are still being built, usually they are for connections or business with the government, of the rest, everything changed.

Esta iniciativa es perfecta @feiderman. En lo personal Valencia es una ciudad que destaca por su importancia en lo industrial y por ende en lo económico, aunque otras épocas fueron mejores para ello. Es grato ver las imágenes que nos comparte de ella y sus edificaciones llamativas en medio de los valles centrales de Venezuela. Saludos

Great initiative @feiderman! What if those interested who do not currently live in cities but want to join the "Knowing Your City Challenge", can they feature their hometowns, mountain areas, beach neighborhoods, countryside regions, or other places that are away from urban zones?
Oh I did not think about that detail, but of course I did, the idea of this is that it is inclusive regardless of the context in which they inhabit.

frankly speaking, I didnt understand the Rules or Guides of initiative that you suggest.
I totally understand what it should not be (just polluting the little community with numerous landscapes and cityscapes pictures without any text, idea and ffort - what can be easier?)
the title is ok. but what other conditions? specific tags, frequency, curation, other conditions? I agree with you, it should be timeless.
so basically if I have something to share, I will share it in A+D, adding "Knowing Your City Challenge" title or not adding it - for example, changing it to 'St.Petersburg places of intrest' (city where I live). What will be the difference for my post in both cases?... Please, develop this idea.

I think @qwerrie has a point. To organize an effective Community Initiative (or a New Series of publications specifically for the Architecture+Design Community), perhaps the title could be better renamed to "My Homeland Architecture Challenge", something that's more adaptable to everyone on the Hive because, regardless of where they live (city, rural, mountain, beach, town, etc.), they can still participate. The primary intent here is to allow those interested in the challenge to showcase their native place of residence from an architectural and design context. Moreover, special tags should also be used like #MyHomelandArchitecture on all related posts - making it easy for us to sort out and review them properly.
@discoveringarni and I will support you in this endeavor plus help you in the curation. It's certainly important to have a guiding system so as to avoid confusion. What are your thoughts @feiderman?

Hello @feiderman, great photography by the way. The upside-down cover photo reminded me of a thesis exhibit where the designer decided to create a room with all of the furniture upside down.
Which modern building in your city of Valencia in your opinion best illustrates or highlights Venezuelan design and architecture?
