     Buen día para todo el que me lee, hoy luego de 8 dias de haber publicado mi experiencia en busca de una fuente de agua, quiero compartir con ustedes un apoyo que le preste a mis compañeros de la universidad que aun están estudiando para aprobar la carrera de Ingeniería Civil.

     FACULTY OF ARCHITECTURE AND ENGINEERING

     Good day for everyone who reads to me, today after 8 days of having published my experience in search of a water source, I want to share with you a support that I give to my college classmates who are still studying to pass the civil engineering degree.


     El trabajo que se realizo en esta oportunidad es estudiar las torres de la Facultad de Ingeniería y Arquitectura de la universidad Santa María, sector La Florencia, Estado Miranda, Venezuela. Este trabajo fue solicitado por uno de los docentes que imparte la cátedra de Construcciones Civiles de esta Facultad.

     The work that was carried out on this occasion is to study the towers of the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture of the Santa María University, Sector Florence, Miranda State, Venezuela. This work was requested by one of the teachers who teaches the chair of Civil Constructions of this Faculty.


     Este trabajo tiene como finalidad la ejecución, medición, diseño y cálculos a fin de obtener las cantidades de obra necesarias para la construcción de la Facultad de Arquitectura e Ingeniería, ubicada en la Universidad Santa María (USM), institución privada.

     This work aims at the execution, measurement, design and calculations in order to obtain the necessary amounts of work for the construction of the Faculty of Architecture and Engineering, located at the Universidad Santa María (USM), a private institution.


     Mi labor en esta actividad fue ayudarles con el levantamiento (mediciones) de las torres educativas de la Facultad de Ingeniería y Arquitectura, así como apoyarlos en la elaboración de la Memoria Descriptiva y Fotográfica.

     My work in this activity was to help them with the lifting (measurements) of the educational towers of the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture, as well as to support them in the elaboration of descriptive and photographic memory.


Descripción del proyecto:

     El proyecto se desarrolla sobre una superficie aproximada de 2.165,50 m², con topografía irregular situada sobre una colina, con desniveles máximos y mínimos. La planta de esta sesión de terreno es de forma irregular y colinda al norte con espacio baldío, al sur con la Facultad de Odontología, al este con Plaza Central y Facultad de Comunicación Social y al oeste con el cafetín de Ingeniería y Facultad de Farmacia.

Project Description:

     The project is developed on an area of approximately 2,165.50 m2, with irregular topography located on a hill, with maximum and minimum slopes. The floor of this field session is irregularly shaped and adjoins to the north with free space, to the south with the Faculty of Dentistry, to the east with Central Plaza and Faculty of Social Communication and to the west with the cafeteria of Engineering and Faculty of Pharmacy.

     Es una edificación de dos niveles, y tiene una capacidad para 1330 estudiantes aproximadamente, cuenta con 19 aulas de estudio, 2 auditorios, 12 baños, 2 salones administrativos, 4 ascensores, 4 accesos rápido mediante escaleras, una plaza para libre esparcimiento con áreas verdes, un área techada con mesas para el uso del estudiantado.

     It is a building of two levels, and hasa capacity for approximately 1330 students, has 19 study classrooms, 2 auditoriums, 12 bathrooms, 2 administrative rooms, 4 elevators, 4 quick accesses by stairs, a space for free recreation with green areas, a roofed area with tables for the use of the student.


     En orientación Sur-Oeste se encuentra la fachada principal la cual se caracteriza por una rampa que facilita el acceso a las instalaciones de la Facultad de Arquitectura e Ingeniería. La edificación se diseñó mediante tres alas, Módulo 7, Módulo 8 y Módulo 9.

     In South West orientation is the main facade which is characterized by a ramp that facilitates access to the facilities of the Faculty of Architecture and Engineering. The building was designed using three wings, Module 7, Module 8 and Module 9.

     Módulo 7: Con una orientación al Noroeste, se incorpora un hall para el acceso rápido, paralelo a este se encuentra el área techada con mesas para el uso del estudiantado. El acceso principal de este espacio es pasando la plaza de la facultad.

     Module 7: With an orientation to the Northwest, a hall is incorporated for quick access, parallel to this is the roofed area with tables for the use of the student. The main access of this space is passing the faculty square.

     Módulo 8: Con una orientación al Noreste, el acceso principal para este espacio es pasando la plaza de la facultad. Pero también se tiene acceso desde las alas 1 y 3 en sus esquinas.

     Module 8: With an orientation to the Northeast, the main access for this space is passing the faculty square. But it is also accessible from wings 1 and 3 in their corners.

     Módulo 9: Con una orientación al Sureste, se incorpora un hall para el acceso rápido, el acceso principal de este espacio es pasando la plaza de la facultad.

     Module 9: With an orientation to the Southeast, a hall is incorporated for quick access, the main access of this space is passing the faculty square.

     Para el acceso rápido al nivel 2, estratégicamente se ubican cuatro (4) escaleras en los extremos de la edificación. Además, la Facultad cuenta con una Plaza central construida por una losa maciza que cubre un área total de 949,68 m².

     For quick access to level 2, four (4) stairs are located at the ends of the building. In addition, the faculty has a central square built by a solid slab.

     Se contabilizó un total de 45 marcos de chapa doblada de hierro, 30 de ellos en paredes de 20 cm de espesor y los otros 15 en paredes de 15 cm de espesor. Así como un total de 45 puertas batientes de láminas entamboradas de hierro.

     A total of 45 iron bent sheet frames were posted, 30 of them on walls 20 cm thick and the other 15 on walls 15 cm thick. As well as a total of 45 swinging doors of iron-plated sheets.

     El revestimiento interior de las paredes es de cerámica nacional color blanco y un acabado natural que cubre un total de 3.251,09 m². Para el piso, se visualizo un revestimiento con mortero de granito con cemento gris y un acabado liso en las juntas, cubriendo un total de 600 m².

     The interior lining of the walls is made of national white ceramic and a natural finish covering a total of 3,251.09 m2. For the floor, a granite mortar coating with grey cement and a smooth finish on the joints is displayed, covering a total of 600 m2.

     Los Módulos 7 y 9 cuentan con 1 ascensor con capacidad para 4 personas , 1 cabina por piso con apertura central.

     Modules 7 and 9 have 1 elevator with capacity for 4 people, 1 cabin per floor with central opening.

     Para cubrir el requerimiento por consumo eléctrico, los diseñadores de la facultad, instalaron 8 tableros de electricidad, de 24 circuitos, monofásico, tensión de trabajo 208/120 Voltios con interruptor principal 3 pulgadas. A continuación se comparte una lista de instalaciones eléctricas observadas durante la inspección.

     To meet the power consumption requirement, faculty designers installed 8 24-circuit, single-phase, 208/120 Volt main switch power boards. A list of electrical installations observed during the inspection is then shared.

  • En las aulas de estudios, pasillos y áreas comunes de la facultad existen lamparas fluorescentes de tipo pantalla 2x40 watt.

  • Los interruptores que conectan los circuitos de electricidad son 60 piezas combinables con tapa metálica de 20 Amp; estos están distribuidos a lo largo de la facultad a una altura de 1,40 metros desde el suelo.

  • Instalados 164 tomacorrientes con tapa plástica, dos fases, 40 Amp y 164 cajetines metálicos rectangulares 2x4 pulgadas, distribuidos en las diferentes áreas de la facultad a una altura de 0,45 metros desde el suelo.

  • Fluorescent lamps of type 2x40 watt display are available in the study classrooms, corridors and common areas of the faculty.

  • The switches that connect the electrical circuits are 60 combinable parts with 20 Amp metal cap; these are distributed along the faculty at a height of 1.40 meters from the ground.

  • Installed 164 current points with plastic lid, two phases, 40 Amp and 164 rectangular metal boxes 2x4 inches, distributed in the different areas of the faculty at a height of 0.45 meters from the ground.

      Para finalizar con mi publicación les comparto las instalaciones sanitarias observadas durante el levantamiento (mediciones) de esta inspección. Se visualizaron metros lineales de tubería rígida-liviana PVC con diámetro de 4 pulgadas (102 mm), de 2 pulgadas (51 mm), de 1/2 pulgada (13 mm) y tubería flexible corrugada con diámetro de 2 pulgadas (51 mm). De igual forma se contabilizaron las piezas sanitarias.

     To close with my publication I share with you the sanitary facilities observed during the survey (measurements) of this inspection. Linear meters of pvc rigid-light pipe with diameter of 4 inches (102 mm), 2 inches (51 mm), 1/2 inch (13 mm) and corrugated flexible pipe with diameter of 2 inches (51 mm) were displayed. In the same way, the sanitary parts were accounted for.

Did you coordinate and meet with the original architect of the said facility to consult and discuss solutions for the existing design of the school building?

     Good morning @storiesoferne, Thank you for your support. It is an honor to be taken into account by my college peers to support them in this project. I did not know the architect of the building but if I could access the original plans because during my university career I met the person in charge of guarding these plans, this because I was a student scholarship student of the university and I became very close friends with this person. In fact, I don't share any more details of this structure (foundation plans) because it's not allowed for safety.

Hello @manuelmilano, I find your site inspections and visits interesting. Do you prefer ocular inspections within a built environment such as this more or the remote trek for water inspections?
