Hola amigos, les saludo con mucho respeto, desde la República Bolivariana de Venezuela, esta vez traigo para ustedes uno de los centros de salud nacional mas importante de nuestro País, y del cual nos sentimos profundamente orgullosos, siendo que, desde su fundación, ha sido referencia para el continente americano y gran parte del mundo por su excelente calidad de servicio en beneficio a la ciencia y aportes a la salud.

Hello friends, I greet you with great respect, from the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, this time I bring you one of the most important national health centers in our country, and of which we are deeply proud, since, since its foundation, it has been a reference for the American continent and much of the world for its excellent quality of service for the benefit of science and contributions to health.

[ESP] El pasado 06 de mayo de este año 2021, mi esposa asistió al Instituto Nacional de Higiene Rafael Rangel del Hospital Clínico Universitario de Caracas para realizarse la prueba de despistaje de COVID-19 (PCR) la cual es obligatoria para poder viajar a otro País. Mi esposa necesitaba cumplir con ese requisito para poder ir a visitar a nuestro hijo mayor y a nuestra nieta que, desde hace tres años viven en la Ciudad de Lima, Perú. Al llegar al Hospital ella tomó con la cámara fotográfica de su teléfono una serie de fotografías a la estructura externa del recinto hospitalario para que yo redactara un trabajo al respecto y lo publicara en esta extraordinaria comunidad, tal lo estoy haciendo en este momento. La intención es mostrarles uno de los mas importantes centros de salud de nuestro País. Espero que puedan apreciar la breve historia que les contaré.

[ENG] On May 6, 2021, my wife attended the Rafael Rangel National Hygiene Institute of the Caracas University Clinical Hospital to undergo the COVID-19 screening test (PCR) which is mandatory to be able to travel to another Country. My wife needed to meet this requirement to be able to visit our eldest son and our granddaughter who, for three years, have lived in the city of Lima, Peru. Upon arriving at the Hospital, she took a series of photographs of the external structure of the hospital with her phone's camera so that I could write a work on it and publish it in this extraordinary community, as I am doing at the moment. The intention is to show you one of the most important health centers in our country. I hope you can appreciate the short story that I will tell you.

Desde niño conocí este icónico Hospital capitalino. Las veces que mi mamá me llevaba a ese importante centro de salud era una experiencia maravillosa para mi por la belleza de aquel lugar, sitio verdaderamente acogedor ubicado dentro de los límites de la hermosa Ciudad Universitaria. El Hospital forma parte de la Universidad Central de Venezuela, Los Chaguaramos, Municipio Libertador, Distrito Capital de la República Bolivariana de Venezuela.

Since I was a child I knew this iconic capital Hospital. The times that my mother took me to that important health center was a wonderful experience for me because of the beauty of that place, a truly welcoming place located within the limits of the beautiful University City. The Hospital is part of the Central University of Venezuela, Los Chaguaramos, Libertador Municipality, Capital District of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.

Antes de hablar del Hospital Universitario o Hospital Clínico Universitario, como tambien se le llama a este recinto de salud público, considero prudente aclarar que El Instituto Nacional de Higiene, se encuentra al lado del Clínico Universitario. Según lo explica la Revista homónima, versión impresa ISSN 0798-0477, INHRR v.39 n.1 Caracas jun. 2008: fue creado el 17 de octubre de 1938, por Decreto Ejecutivo del entonces Presidente de la República de Venezuela General en Jefe Eleazar López Contreras; está adscrito al Ministerio del Poder Popular para la Salud. En la mencionada revista se puede leer que el Instituto, desde su creación en 1938, ha sido una de las instituciones de salud vanguardia de la actividad médico sanitaria del País y de Latinoamérica: Es una Institución de Referencia Nacional para la prevención y vigilancia sanitaria, a través de los programas: Registro y control sanitario de productos de uso y consumo humano; Diagnóstico y vigilancia epidemiológica en las áreas de bacteriología, virología, micología, docencia, investigación aplicada y Extensión, Producción de bienes y servicios, como: Vacunas Bacterianas y Virales, Medios de Cultivos, Cultivos Celulares, Reactivos y Colorantes, Agua calidad inyectable. Animales de Laboratorio. Procesamiento de materiales, Esterilización. Desde siempre este Instituto ha sido orgullo de la medicina venezolana, hoy sigue dando la batalla contra el Covid 19 y en todas las áreas descrita. Además hoy está dentro de los predios de la Universidad Central de Venezuela formando parte del gran complejo Hospital Clínico Universitario de Caracas.

Before talking about the University Hospital or University Clinical Hospital, as this public health facility is also called, I consider it prudent to clarify that The National Institute of Hygiene, is located next to the University Clinic. As explained by the homonymous magazine, printed version ISSN 0798-0477, INHRR v.39 no.1 Caracas Jun. 2008: it was created on October 17, 1938, by Executive Decree of the then President of the Republic of Venezuela General in Chief Eleazar López Contreras; is attached to the Ministry of Popular Power for Health. In the aforementioned magazine it can be read that the Institute, since its creation in 1938, has been one of the health institutions at the forefront of medical health activity in the Country and Latin America: It is a National Reference Institution for prevention and sanitary surveillance, through the programs: Registration and sanitary control of products for human use and consumption; Diagnosis and epidemiological surveillance in the areas of bacteriology, virology, mycology, teaching, applied research and Extension, Production of goods and services, such as: Bacterial and Viral Vaccines, Culture Media, Cell Culture, Reagents and Dyes, Injectable quality water. Laboratory Animals. Processing of materials, Sterilization. This Institute has always been the pride of Venezuelan medicine, today it continues to fight against Covid 19 and in all the areas described. In addition, today it is within the grounds of the Central University of Venezuela, forming part of the large complex Hospital Clínico Universitario de Caracas.

El Hospital Universitario fue concebido como el punto de partida del diseño que hizo el arquitecto venezolano Carlos Raúl Villanueva para la primera etapa del proyecto (1944-1949) que consistió en la construcción de los edificios de la zona médica integrada por el Instituto Anatomopatológico, el Hospital Universitario, el Instituto Anatómico, el Instituto de Medicina Experimental, el Instituto de Higiene y la Escuela de Enfermeras Desde su fundación, ha sido pionero en la formación y capacitación de nuevas generaciones en el área de la medicina, tanto de pre y posgrado; así como de otras profesiones afines, cumpliendo con el propósito fundamental de obtener una elevada eficiencia asistencial, docente y de investigación; siendo catalogado como obra invaluable de referencia médico-asistencial y paradigma nacional e internacional.

The University Hospital was conceived as the starting point of the design made by the Venezuelan architect Carlos Raúl Villanueva for the first stage of the project (1944-1949) which consisted of the construction of the buildings of the medical zone integrated by the Anatomopathological Institute, the University Hospital, the Anatomical Institute, the Institute of Experimental Medicine, the Institute of Hygiene and the School of Nurses Since its foundation, it has been a pioneer in the education and training of new generations in the area of medicine, both undergraduate and graduate; as well as other related professions, fulfilling the fundamental purpose of obtaining high efficiency in care, teaching and research; being cataloged as an invaluable work of medical-care reference and national and international paradigm.

A modo de conclusión: Quiero aclarar que yo no soy arquitecto, ni diseñador, tampoco soy ingeniero pero me encanta el mundo de la construcción, admiro los diseños, los colores, la distribución de los espacios... en fin, soy un enamorado de la creación de Dios y del trabajo artístico de los humanos de ayer y de hoy. Amo observar a la naturaleza, me deleita la geometría, las formas, los colores, la armonía natural que envuelve todo. Me abstraigo con lo antiguo y lo moderno que lleva consigo lo extraordinario de las creaciones artísticas. Admiro, respeto y quiero a los que ponen su corazón, su mente y sus manos al servicio del planeta. Cuando publico en esta comunidad lo hago consciente de mis limitaciones para definir tipos de arquitectura y de ingeniería utilizada en cada edificación, sin embargo, me atrevo a hacerlo porque además de publicar aquí, tambien leo lo que otros publican y así voy aprendiendo de ustedes. La verdad considero a esta comunidad una verdadera ESCUELA. Gracias y me disculpo por el poco conocimiento que tengo. Me disculpo por invadir, sin mala intención, su maravilloso espacio.

By way of conclusion: I want to clarify that I am not an architect, nor a designer, I am not an engineer either, but I love the world of construction, I admire the designs, the colors, the distribution of spaces ... in short, I am in love with the creation of God and the artistic work of humans of yesterday and today. I love to observe nature, I am delighted by the geometry, the shapes, the colors, the natural harmony that surrounds everything. I ascribe to the old and the modern, which carries with it the extraordinary of artistic creations. I admire, respect and love those who put their hearts, minds and hands at the service of the planet. When I publish in this community I am aware of my limitations to define types of architecture and engineering used in each building, however, I dare to do it because in addition to publishing here, I also read what others publish and that is how I am learning from you. The truth is I consider this community a true SCHOOL. Thank you and I apologize for the little knowledge I have. I apologize for unintentionally invading your wonderful space.

Hello friend @praditya I greet you with great respect from Venezuela. It is certainly a very large building like most of the Venezuelan hospitals built in the past. Too bad they are low maintenance today and most of the excellent health professionals of the past are no longer in Venezuela. Many have left the country due to the acute crisis we are experiencing due to the retrograde political model that has been imposed. However, there are still excellent professionals fighting the battle against Covid19 and other diseases. Thanks friend for your comment. Greetings and blessings.

Hola amigo @praditya Te saludo con mucho respeto desde Venezuela. Ciertamente es una edificación muy grande como la mayoría de los hospitales venezolanos construídos en tiempos pasados. Lástima que hoy tengan poco mantenimiento y que la mayoría de los excelente profesionales de la salud del pasado ya no estén en Venezuela. Muchos se han ido del País por la aguda crisis que vivimos por culpa del modelo político retrógrado que se ha impuesto. Sin embargo, todavía quedan excelente profesionales dando la batalla contra el Covid19 y otras enfermedades. Gracias amigo por tu comentario. Saludos y bendiciones.
