Sonargaon is one of the top places to explore the architectural beauty of ancient bangle. It's the highest visited place by tourists too. The ancient city is not destroyed and turned into a museum.

There are two separate museums, both displaying the art and crafts of Bangladesh. The first one is just beside the entrance, that building used to be a palace. The second one is a modern building that was established later after Bangladesh got separated from India and Pakistan.

Today, I'm going to present the architectural beauty of the first building I'm talking about. I have shared a post before where I showed you the 'Shardar Bari', which is the main building/palace of Isa Khan. You can see the post HERE. If you visit the post, it would be easy for you to relate.

  • The first I have shared is the entry of the palace. The detailed work and the color combination are mesmerizing. The entry gate is made out of fine marble, which gives the walls an extra shine.

  • In the second photo, you can see the whole entrance. isn't it beautiful? The building behind is the main palace. The handcrafted work on the walls, over the marble, is done so beautifully, it sure will give you a chill.

  • The third photo is the main palace I'm talking about, it's the building that you are seeing in the previous photo. I shared this photo in my earlier post. I'm sharing again so you don't miss out.

  • if you zoom in, you will get to see the detailed work. This building is also known as Baro Sardar Bari. Now it's turned into the Bangladesh art and craft museum. There were many renovations works done inside the palace. You will find more detail about the palace in this LINK.

  • We were been there earlier this year. They put up some banners about Covid restrictions and rules. That looked so awkward, it took away the beauty of the place.

Then we entered the place after paying for the ticket. The inside of the palace is so beautiful. But after renovation, the ancient work is a bit lost. Because all you will see is a bit more touch. I understand that it's quite impossible to bring back the same handcrafted fine works. The inside of the palace felt cold because there usually don't enter any sunlight. Probably because the female members of the family used to live there.

If you want to see some crafts and arts of the museum, you can visit my previous post where I showcased some photographs. I have shared the link at the beginning of this post.

This place is open to all. But shooting for movies and different other projects is restricted. Because it hampers the museum's environment.

This beautiful place used to be someone's living room! Can you believe that? How wonderful it would be if we can live for a night there. That sure would be a lifetime experience.

I would love to visit the place again.

Have a good day, everyone.
