Hi friends
Today I present this palace that is in the very center of the city.
Located in Plaza Moyúa, it is the most beautiful building we have.
CHÁVARRI PALACE
Hola amigos
Built in 1889
The Belgian architect Paul Hankar Atanasio de Anduiza designed it on behalf of the businessman Víctor Chávarri, Marqués de Triano, who had commercial relations in Belgium and saw the Zegers-Regnard hotel built in Brussels and thought that in Bilbao he could realize his dream for a manor house.
When it was built, there was nothing around it were fields in a city that was just beginning to flourish.
Today it is no longer a manor house or castle since 1943 it became the headquarters of the Civil Government,
Now little by little we will appreciate all the details of its facade.
We can appreciate the Flamenco style throughout the building.
The palace consists of a plinth on the ground floor, three floors and the last floor topped with mansards
The asymmetrical façade and in a location that stands out for its building that is only on one corner of Gran Via street in the heart of the city.
We start with one of its sides
The morning sun makes even the rainbow welcome us, to appreciate more the details.
We appreciate its balconies with rounded shapes and balustrades with interesting wrought iron shapes that the platen turns green.
The stone chairs of different colors and shapes give a stately touch.
Its balconies and viewpoints all in stone carved in different ways make us stop to look at it in detail.
Now we look at an angle to move to the main facade.
We see the stone borders carved in detail to give a texture to the stone, some in geometric shape and others we could almost say in the shape of a brain.
The balconies each one different and we continue to see the work of the craftsmen who with their chisels molded the stone and did not leave a space without shaping.
The main door today closed since it is a holiday, shines with the polished wood, under the arch, with the windows on each side.
We look up and see the flags on the balcony, La ikurriña, which is our flag, the Spanish and the European Union,
Always blowing in the wind, no matter what rain or shine they are always there.
As you can see, there is not a place where the stone is clean and unworked, there are always details that even in those times had meaning and over the years it has been lost or we simply do not remember it.
We find on the right a small, simpler door, I suppose it would be the entrance of the easement, the workers never entered through the main door.
Now we see the facade of the other part, it does not lose its beauty because it is not the main facade
Here are the gardens, all closed to the public since it is a building where the Civil Government of Vizcaya is located
Between the lattices I pass the camera to show you the back where we see a tower that is the glass stairs.
Thus we could say that the contemplation of the palace is over.
But we still have the upper part, always discovering things that we missed, no matter how many years you look at it.
The arches of the viewpoints that I suppose will have a beautiful terrace full of comforts.
The roof is spectacular with its towers finished like a medieval castle pointing to the sky and the railing finished with bronze balls.
We bid you farewell to the palace with the general view from the square full of flowers
I hope you liked the palace that is in the center of my city, an old story that lives on in all of us.

Hello friend happy thursday
Thanks a lot
Take care, friend @claudio83
Oh amazing ecletic architecture
Regardless of being transformed into a building for the Civil Government of Vizcaya, that landmark still maintains its distinctive appearance as a magnificent castle or manor. This is the first time I've seen a building crafted in the Flamenco architectural style. Almost every inch of most of the surfaces is filled with elaborate details that contribute to its overall theme, thus creating a mesmerizing effect. Bilbao is truly blessed to be adorned by important historical projects such as these. Thank you friend @txatxy for the interesting publication!
Hello @storiesoferne
When money is left over and you have to give an image of rich and high society is what happened, all very ornate and with a lot of pomp, thanks to that we know them now and enjoy.
It also seems to me that the rich now do that too, their houses are magnificent, but looking at magazines, I see a drawback, apart from having to clean haha that is that I am poor and I never think that if you have a big house you have money for the service .
I see them houses without life, everything tidy, everything clean, everything in its place, so they seem to me not very cozy houses haha
The poor man's mentality I guess.
Or it will be like the moral of the fox and the grapes
He saw them so delicious that he wanted them, but since he did not reach them, his comment was
They sure are green hehe
I do not know if you understand me
Happy Friday
Hola
No sé si me entiendes
Feliz viernes
I agree with your practical insight. Nowadays, we see a lot of beautiful mansions but, it's just a building and lacks the love and life of its inhabitants. So, if you refer back to the moral lesson of the fable of the fox and grapes stating "we hate the things that we cannot get", that's alright. Some of us (however poor) may not achieve the material wealth that rich people enjoy hence, embracing happiness with whatever we currently possess is what's important. I hope I've understood you friend...haha. 😁
if you understood me well we do not hate but if we despise haha
But the poor have one thing that the rich do not have fixed.
they love us for who we are and not for what we have 😂😍
Exactly, true wealth is not in the material things of life but in the significant values and virtues that we all cherish, embrace, and practice. Those intangible plus priceless qualities are what make a person truly rich in life. And owning a beautiful mansion is just a bonus, haha. Happy weekend! 😊

Those prominent detailing on the façade boost the appeal of the building. It is my first time hearing about Flamenco architectural style. It seems quite different from the classics. Enjoy some !PIZZA
