I live in the north of Spain and here before the second world war we had a civil war.
With a blow to the republic, which cost us 40 years of dictatorship.

It traveled the entire coast and its bunkers and trenches were made by all the people who could with the weight of the stones, women and children participated in a great collective effort of people who were not architects or knew about it, just pure force of will and desire to be free.

Such works of Defensive Architecture will always serve as a reminder of the hardships and struggles our grandparents and great grandparents had to endure.
I was struck by this, particularly the words " great collective effort." During dire times, our individual talents and skills emerge beyond our imagination and we surprise ourselves with what we're able to achieve together.

War bunkers are exemplary testaments of the bravery, sacrifices, and heroism of the soldiers and defenders who fought with their own lives for the valuable freedom of the nation. These architectural ruins (built by non-architects) should be celebrated historic commemorations to remind citizens of the powerful willpower to unite and work together for their ultimate independence.
