In the east of Venezuela, is one of the most important architectural works of cathedral type in the country, it is the Cathedral of Our Lady of Carmen, located in the capital city of Maturin, Monagas state - Venezuela. This imposing building, apart from being a place visited by Catholic believers, is also a very popular place for tourists, as was my case, since I arrived in the city of Maturin, I had the intention to visit this cathedral and photograph it.
The construction time lasted 21 years, from 1959 to 1981 in our modern times, and its Romanesque style, also mixes designs of neoclassical and colonial architectural style. It was commissioned by the architects Juan Francisco Serrano and Ernesto Prall, under the administration of the Ministry of Urban Development and the Ministry of Justice, governmental entities that were in charge of budgeting the necessary funds for the construction of this temple.
En el oriente de Venezuela, se encuentra unas de las obras arquitectónicas de tipo catedral, más importante del país, se trata de la cátedra de nuestra señora del Carmen, ubicado en la ciudad capital Maturín, estado Monagas - Venezuela. Esta imponente edificación, hace que aparte de ser un lugar visitado por creyentes católicos, también es un recinto muy concurridos por turistas, tal como fue mi caso, que desde que llegué a la ciudad de Maturín, tenía la intención de visitar esta catedral y poder fotografiarla.
El tiempo de construcción duró 21 años, desde 1959 hasta 1981 en nuestro tiempos modernos, y su estilo románico, también mezcla diseños del estilo arquitectónico neoclásico y colonial. Donde estuvieron encargados por los arquitectos Juan Francisco Serrano y Ernesto Prall, bajo la administración del ministerio de desarrollo urbano y ministerio de justicia, entes gubernamentales que se encargaron de presupuestar los fondos necesarios para la construcción de este templo.
As we see its front facade, this cathedral is comprised of two large towers, even considered the second highest in all of South America, counting with one of its towers an elevator, for the transfer of whatever is necessary for the cathedral, also has a large dome and as can be seen in its facade is seen in its construction a triangular pediment.
While on the sides you can see two large entrances, also composed of triangular pediments, and throughout the construction, small windows are formed, to have a better entry of light into the interior of this cathedral, which from the inside must certainly have a magnificent design.
Como vemos su fachada frontal, esta catedral se comprende de dos grandes torres, incluso consideradas la segunda más alta de toda Sudamérica, contando con una de sus torres un ascensor, para el traslado de lo que sea necesario para la catedral, además cuenta con una gran cúpula y como se puede visualizar en su fachada se ve en su construcción un frontón triangular.
Mientras que en los laterales se puede apreciar dos grandes entradas, igualmente compuestas por frontones triagulares, y por toda las construcción, se conforman pequeñas ventanas, para tener una mejor entrada de luz hacia el interior de esta catedral, que desde adentro sin duda debe tener un diseño magnífico.
For me it is a spectacular work, which was built in more current times, unlike most of the churches and cathedrals in the country, which mostly have between 100 or more years of construction, with very clear influence of European architectural design, applied to this type of construction, in order to create more space for devout Catholics, which is a majority in the country.
On the other hand, despite not being able to enter inside, because it is currently under maintenance, I can imagine its design and decoration as a cathedral, in addition to having a large area, being one of the largest cathedrals in the country and the Latin American continent. Thus creating a very striking image, which can be seen from anywhere in the center of the city of Maturin. Even telling as an anecdote, the way to get to the address of the cathedral, was practically locating me by the visualization of the towers.
Para mi es una obra espectacular, que se construyó en épocas más actuales, a diferencias de las mayorías de las iglesias y catedrales del país, que en su mayoría tienen entre 100 o más años de construcción, con influencia muy claras del diseño arquitectónico europeo, aplicados para este tipo de construcción, con el fin de crear más espacios para los devotos católicos, que es una mayoría en el país.
Por otro lado, a pesar de no poder entra en su interior, debido a que actualmente se encuentra en mantenimiento, puedo imaginar su diseño y decoración como catedral, además de contar con una gran superficie, siendo unas de las catedrales más grandes del país y del continente latinoamericano. Creando así una imagen muy llamativa, que se puede visualizar desde cualquier punto del centro de la ciudad de Maturín. Incluso contando como anécdota, la manera de llegar a la dirección de la catedral, fue prácticamente ubicandome por la visualización de las torres.
Undoubtedly, this building is part of the heritage and architecture of the city of Maturin and Venezuela, becoming one of the most important cathedrals of the country, with respect to its design, which in a way reminds me of the designs of buildings of the houses and structures of a town called La Colonia Tovar, Aragua state - Venezuela, which is characterized by its great influence of German architecture and culture, because 100 years ago a large number of German migrants arrived in that area.

Sin duda, esta edificación es parte patrimonial y arquitectónica de la ciudad de Maturín y Venezuela, convirtiéndose en unas de las catedrales más importantes del país, con respecto a su diseño, que en cierta manera me recuerda a los diseños de edificaciones de las viviendas y estructuras de un pueblo llamado La Colonia Tovar, estado Aragua - Venezuela, que se caracteriza por su gran influencia de la arquitectura y cultura alemana, debido a que hace 100 años llegaron una gran cantidad de migrantes alemanes a esa zona.

What really caught my attention was its height, it is undoubtedly an imposing building.
It's a shame there was an improvement so you didn't go inside. if you can enter there must be a lot of extraordinary photos.
