π₯ βTHE GATHERINGβ
The Pub will do a trial with gatherings of 14 days (2 weeks) instead of 7 for a month. We love the rewards and upvotes everyone does, but the main focus was always decentralization and then rewards for the Pub. The first was not easily achieved and then we need to adapt uphand management effort. The rewards are nice but honestly, the content aim for this objective is way much more valuable in our view.
This means that on the first 7 days rewards will run, and then on the following 7 days no. But the giveaways will also be sparse (longer) and this will also provide more time for post updates and others.
In the middle of this, is @forykw that has been dedicating more time to family and has not been able to work on the Pub that often. He sends his regards to any supporters of the Pub that wishes to either provide new insights or help in any way (and this is not monetary ones).
If you want to see this differently, then take it as a "on vacation" mode attempt test, to see if we can manage. For now, that's it... more when possible.
π° Pub Financials
Things are getting finally interesting from the point of view of what you guys provide to the Pub. The graph can tell...
Today was re-investment day, so expect more changes after today. At least we saw 5$ from pool rewards+gatherings from the last 7 days. That's not counting with SPS and VOUCHER, not yet refluxed.
Post rewards are not as great as before, but we are OK with that. We haven't been too much out there too, so, understandable. Either way, we are here, nothing changing on attendance.
SPS value in the Pub π
Does not sound much, but it will make a huge difference, once the nodes updates come into play. Remember, this is thanks to you! People of the Pub own this.
A reminder that @forykw is not included on these because he's a strategist manager and would not be fair to consider him part of this, so be sure this will be from/for the Pub community, ALL HIVE-Engine tokens owned by the Pub for that matter. Later when the ATX pools launch, he will be an investor for sure.
π Should we create a Pub tokenβ
@forykw is aware the ATX token is a thing of his own, but he has his own rules... and the Pub is not him, so we can indeed start our own thing if we want. So the challenge goes. We all decide...
The Pub has currently enough BEE tokens on pools to create a new token (100 BEE).
We think the experience @forykw has is very welcome and he said he wishes to share that experience the best he can... for the benefit of the Pub and #HIVE communities.
So, we can enrol into a community based created token by the Pub, together π . This could mean many things, as for example, that the initial distribution to only people that have been on the Pub? That will be up to what we all decide (in that regard @forykw will be alike any of you). What do you think? We can brainstorm this later, but just to give you some sparks...
For quite some time the idea of the Pub came along on @forykw head, but he hates to make decisions himself (especially ones that centralize only on him)... AND, he feels awesome empowering the community, but at the same time, he wants new leaders to emerge and navigate with everyone. That's the idea of all of this!
Right, enough of the "manager"... let's get your opinions. We will bring a new "@ everyone" on the discord for you all to read this when you can. Feedback first, then more conversation.
CryptoShotsπ« - HIVE Updates
People, they are coming in! We told you so... the $DOOM is coming! Prepare... Around August is the current best guess. Check more updates in THIS comment or around the Pub.
The special "goodie" around the HIVE integration will be the Hive shield, already LIVE in-game (check/buy/sell it HERE) - The shield can be used against the final boss of the 2nd level.
Also, don't forget to use the Alcor WAX/BOOM pool if you need to swap WAX for BOOM or vice versa. I am guessing that on HIVE the same eventually will happen to DOOM!

I am assuming they all work basically the same way, just with slight staking differences and requirements.
I have no idea what is involved with all the coding and maintenance.
How much work is it to get tokens for commenting in the pub and then use them to enter the competitions in the pub like getting tickets in a meat tray?
What about getting photos we take of pubs all around the world or beer coasters and mint them into collectable NFTs.
I think I could come up with some crazy ideas but am not much help with the mechanics behind it all or the implementations.
The work involved in having something automatic is not difficult. The problem is protecting against "exploiters". The hard part is always that. And from what I have been looking, the best way is to start slow and low... and then move up as people start knowing about the Pub.
The bots are quite simple enough, but create noise on the chain (to which I am not feeling it would be something I would like to instigate). I would rather use a contract that rewards people for upvoting comments. But that costs quite a lot of BEE and the long-term vision for ATX is going to probably have that already, so I was thinking of doing something different (more original) with the Pub token. Something more manual... for now.
Example: I will create a governance channel on Discord, and then we can start all voting (with emojis) for decisions. Then initially agree on an issuing quantity, let's say, 10 tokens... and then distribute those tokens based on who does something for the Pub, or comments... something simple but that does not attract people to just create multiple accounts and spam things. Hence it has to be decentralised via another method.
So... I am thinking on that part. I will get more into Discord first.
That's a very cool idea. And anyone can mint already, so, it might play nice in the future to value support those NFTs with pub tokens. There is a way already to do that automatically, but needs to come from an authorized account. So, again, requires some BEE to enable.

It's a manual thing... and will at least compensate people for the "cost" of buying the NFT (not in one go, but over time, and never over more than 1 year)... it's just a gesture thing for now. In the future might be used again.
For now, the only retribution for owning it, is my random curation and checking on the accounts that hold that NFT. In the future might be more automatic.
I should play splinterlands I have to save the 10 usd for the starter pack so I can play and learn about it because I see that game is kind of hard.
