After taking a picture and then reviewing it, I always get an idea.

When I reviewed the new images on my computer I noticed about some of them beautiful shadows. I based the pictures on nature. I saw in one day, butterflies, a cricket, a rabbit and also a beautiful clover.

Cuando revisé las nuevas imágenes en mi computador noté sobre alguna de ellos hermosas sombras. Las fotografías las basé en naturaleza. Vi en un mismo día, mariposas, un grillo, un conejo y también un hermoso trébol.

I wondered right then and there if insects are frightened by their own shadows. It may seem like an insignificant or ignorant question, but I wanted to know about it.

Me pregunté justo en ese momento si los insectos se asustan con sus propias sombras. Parecerá una pregunta insignificante o ignorante pero quise saber sobre el asunto ¿Por qué surge la pregunta?

It arises after seeing the cricket's shadow. These insects are fast and elusive. When they sense human presence or something threatening, they immediately jump and run away, but in this case it was not like that. I took many pictures of the insect and it never tried to jump to escape. The same thing has happened to me with butterflies. We know that they are very restless but there are moments when they remain static. Could it be because they are afraid of their own shadow?

Surge luego de ver la sombra del grillo. Estos insectos so rápidos y esquivos. Cuanto sienten presencia humana o de algo que represente amenaza, de inmediato saltan y huyen pero, en este caso no fue así. Tomé muchas fotos del insecto y éste nunca intentó saltar para escapar. Lo mismo me ha sucedido con las mariposas. Sabemos que son muy inquietas pero hay momentos en que se mantienen estáticas ¿Será por temor a su propia sombra?

We have heard that about flies being afraid of their shadow. In fact, when there are many flies somewhere in the house, it is suggested to place transparent bags filled with water and vinegar. Apparently this acts as a kind of mirror where the larger shadow is reflected. This way the flies flee from the place.

De las moscas se ha oído ese tema sobre miedo a su sombra. De hecho, cuando hay muchas moscas en algún lugar de la casa se sugiere colocar bolsas transparentes llenas de agua y vinagre. Al parecer esto actúa como una especie de espejo donde se refleja la sombra de mayor tamaño. Así las moscas huyen del lugar.
