the first to surmise what is making this shadow below gets a prize but there are also prizes for other guesses- mostly based on their entertainment value. it's not much fun if everybody's guesses are almost the same so the more creative the reply, the more the prize.

we also have a special prize- the highly ehived venwood prize which is given
for an extraordinary reply which stretches the limit of what is conceivable to the point where readers can't help but burst out in laughter or at least shake their head in wonder. the venwood prize shall only be awarded for advanced effort abounding with fantastical elucidation. a good one-liner just won't do,

a venwood approach to a mystery is not to attempt to reveal some profound hidden truth, but rather to remove the weight of darkness from the unknown thereby lightening the load for us all. by extension it is an approach to life itself.

This is a fleeting glimpse of the shadow of a dracon in flight, a rare and terrifying ancient warrior species that feeds on humans and is best avoided at all costs for obvious reasons. Only the edge of the dracon’s wing is visible, with a hint of the powerful tail feathers in the left hand corner of the photo. There are very few of them remaining on earth, most have disappeared. It is amazing that you captured this shadow and survived to post about it!

re the venwood it is not given every week. there were several candidates last round but in the end, despite proof to the contrary, the shadow was nonetheless most certainly a rabbit so any rabbity replies were deemed too obvious. but no worries it just means the prize is up for grabs in this round

Let me guess, this is a garden lizzard, those guys with spear like projections on their back, or may be a wet bird shaking off its feathers the tail on the left... I love the way you're adding clues. I'm stretching my imagination as far as I can to come up with mine. This is a challenging one. 😃

I'm inclined to believe this is part of a yucca palm, yucca rostrata, I think, the kind that doesn't shed leaves but just lets them curl over each other and die while the rest of the tree continues to grow. But I could be wrong, and maybe it's a hybrid animal, probably hawk and echidna cross, judging by the razor sharp feathers.

yes 500 hp but the first time was weeks ago
so when that didn't work yesterday i delegated 499.9. i don't think it registered as an addition to the previous 500. this morning instead of receiving the usual 50 points i received 49.9. my intention was to add the new delegation to the original 500 hp delegation
