entry reflections 82

in Shadow Hunters2 years ago (edited)

in the old buildings from before the 1800s here, the windows are most often side hinged with 6 panes, and 3 muntins, one vertical and two horizontal. the panes are taller than they are wide. later in the 1800s with the newer empire style, the windows still were 3 panes in height but the panes were square or wider than tall.

so here we can deduce the building is from before 1800. but since this is a reflections contest i shall focus on the reflection rather than the details of the design.
what i find most interesting is that in four panes we can see more windows. in the lower two panes the view is through the room and out the windows on the opposite wall with trees in the background. we have a view of both the exterior and interior of the windows. just above however, the upper four panes are reflecting the windows and roof from the building behind. it is also from before 1800 with the same style windows, only with the exterior painted white rather than brown.

at first it seems odd that there is no clear distinction between the view through the window and the reflection on the surface so it is easy to assume it must happen exactly at the lower horizontal muntin

however zooming in on the middle panes reveals 2 ceiling beams and some of the ceiling inside as well as the reflection

Oh, you presented the post not only with beautiful reflection but also with interesting architectural details! Bravo, @eolianpariah2 !

Wonderful photos.
In the first photo I couldn't see the reflections well, but the second photo revealed everything brightly.
