Shadow Hunters Contest Round 162 - A Tree is A Tree Is A Tree

Hello Shadow Hunters! A new week has dawned upon us all. It is again time to show our prize shadow catches and be one of the lucky winners for this week. Everyone is invited to join this awesome challenge initiated by the indefatigable @melinda010100. Learn more about this here. Thanks as well to the hard-working @nelinoeva and @galenkp, our sponsors @good-karma @ecency @taskmaster @pixresteemer and #archon.

For this week my subject will be an unusual looking tree found in our garden. It has barely any leaves and the little it grows are not enough to provide any shade at all. But as my title goes, A Tree Is A Tree Is A Tree, regardless of how it looks.

It is a temple tree or what we call in our local vernacular as Kalachuchi. Other names are Plumeria Rubra or Frangipan. There are different varieties of this tree manifested in their flowers' colors. Ours has white flowers and is the most common of the species. Here are a few more photos from different angles.

Here's one with its reflection on the water as I was watering the plants in the garden.

As you can see even more clearly from its reflection the tree hardly has any leaves at all. Yet despite that it flowers so industriously and not only are they beautiful, they are so fragrant as well.

Here are some facts and tidbits about Temple trees. As medicine it can be used to bring down fever, prevent and cure asthma, treat sores, rheumatic pains and swellings. The bark and leaves in decoction are used to bring down fever and prevent or cure asthma. The root from a smaller plant mixed with coconut oil in a brew can be used to massage the joints in rheumatic pains. And the heated leaves are applied as a balm over swellings. And that's it for this week's edition of this wonderful challenge. Good luck to everyone participating. Meanwhile stay safe and have a blessed weekend.

What beautiful shadows to have in your garden! That is such a pretty tree and it's flowers are gorgeous! Great post!

Thanks a lot @melinda010100. The flowers in the picture are actually for you 🙂 That's in appreciation for all the work you do. Have a really great Sunday!

Awwwww! Thanks. The weather is getting warmer here and I am looking forward to being outdoors sitting in the sunshine and doing Hive stuff! It's been a long cold winter and I have missed flowers very much, so these are perfect.

This unusual tree has a very nice and interesting shadow.
