How can the upper beautiful and ethereal world meet the lower material, ugly and bad one?
How can the innocent but also powerful heavens meet the hardness and sinfulness of the earth?
How is it possible for beauty and perfection to meet imperfection?
How can eternity meet transience ....?
By reflecting on it.
I like to walk on the sea shore and watch the waves. To me, they are the absolute symbol of the transience of life. They come and go. They take with them into the sea whatever they find on the beach, then return things from the interior and leave them on land. They erase human footprints in the sand and draw their own footprints.
Human footsteps on the sand are an even brighter symbol of mortality and transience.
In one moment you are here, in the next the wave has already washed away the last memory of you.
And when eternity - the sky peeks at these temporary steps, reflecting on them, isn't this a great irony of life - eternity on transience, spirituality on materiality, "that world" on "this world"?
And in the end everything merges into one and mixes into the word "life".
