What's that smell, Granny?
Anita, era una niña de 9 años, a pesar de lo duro que ha sido su vida para su corta edad, aún sonríe. Va a la escuela cada mañana, pero su maestra la observa cada día más delgada y algo desanimada.
Anita, was a 9 year old girl, despite how hard her life has been for her young age, still smiles. She goes to school every morning, but her teacher watches her getting thinner and a little more discouraged every day.
La niña llega a las 12 del medio día a casa de la abuela, con quien vive desde que recuerda, su papá se fue lejos con su otra familia y su mamá no aguanto la agonía de su partida.
The babygirl arrives at 12 noon at her grandmother's house, with whom she has lived for as long as she can remember.
Cuando llega a casa, su abuela la abraza fuerte, la recibe además con un beso en la frente y le dice lo mucho que la ama.
When she arrives home, her grandmother hugs her tightly, welcomes her with a kiss on her forehead and tells her how much she loves her.
Mientras Anita se quita el uniforme, las ollas y los platos suenan en la cocina. Va nuevamente donde su abuela y le pregunta "¿Qué haces abuelita?" "sueno los platos mijita, para que los vecinos no sepan que no tenemos comida".
As Anita takes off her uniform, the pots and plates ring out in the kitchen. She goes back to her grandmother and asks her "What are you doing, grandma?" "I'm sounding out the dishes, so that the neighbours don't know that we don't have any food.
La niña a su cuarto regresa muy hambrienta, no cenó, no desayunó y el estomago aprieta. Su abuelita se acerca y la lleva hacia la ventana "tengo hambre" la niña exclama, la abuela muy triste le dice "huele mijita", "¿a qué huele abuelita"?, "a la rica comida que prepara la vecina, huele hijita mía e imagina que la comes".
The girl returns to her room very hungry, has not eaten, has not had breakfast and has a tight stomach. Her grandmother approaches and takes her to the window, "I'm hungry", the girl exclaims, the grandmother says very sadly "smell, my child", "what smell is that grandmother?", "smell the rich food that the neighbour is preparing, smell my daughter, imagine that you eat it".

Así, como la historia de Anita existen muchas, cada una más triste que la otra.

Mientras tanto muchos, no le damos el valor a los alimentos que estos merecen, si vemos el plato medio lleno nos quejamos, si es mucha comida la dejamos, si se repite lo que comimos ayer, criticamos.

Mentiría al decir que jamás he botado comida, son miles y millones de alimentos que se pudren a diario en el mundo y que se desechan en los hogares, cuando hay tantos que mueren de hambre.

Debemos valorar y ser agradecidos, así comamos poco o quizás algo repetido. Dar gracis a Dios siempre por los alimentos y pedirle para aquellos que no tienen que comer, que les provea el sustento.
We should value and be grateful, even if we eat little or perhaps something repeated. Always give thanks to God for food and ask Him for those who do not have to eat, to provide for them.

Un plato de comida jamás se le niega a nadie, donde come uno comen dos y si tienes para compartir algo con vecino hazlo, nunca se sabe en casa este l vajilla servida pero vacía y una Anita que huele tu comida, para hacer como si la come mientras su abuela llora a escondidas.

😭 por eso me acostumbré a comer todo lo que me ponen en el plato y si me sobra intento llevármela así parezca muerta de hambre, la comida es sagrada y nunca se bota o desperdicia.
Así es mi querida Irina. La comida no se bota, en tal caso es mejor regalarla
Esas situaciones son las que nos hacen valorar mas las cosas, y las que generan hermosas virtudes en nosotros al vivirlas.
Si, por eso le coloqué ese título "El Valor", ya que allí es cuando valoramos, cuando no tenemos.
