Repudiar la oportunidad de mentir
a quien oye confiadamente
cada una de tus palabras.
Mirar con indiferencia lo ajeno
cuando nadie más te ve
y puedes apropiarte de ello.
Rechazar la violencia
aunque corra sangre
de tu propia sangre.
Juzgar desde el estrado
sin dar cabida
a la corrupción.
Perdonar la vida del ladrón,
el violador
y el asesino.
Actuar bajo un código de honor
mientras el mundo
está en caos.
No es fácil, amigos míos;
hace falta más que temple
y un corazón noble
para ser un hombre justo.

To look with indifference at what is not yours
when no one else sees you
and you can appropriate it.
Rejecting violence
even if blood runs
of your own blood.
Judging from the bench
without giving room
to corruption.
Spare the life of the thief,
the rapist
and the murderer.
Acting under a code of honor
while the world
is in chaos.
It's not easy, my friends;
it takes more than mettle
and a noble heart
to be a just man.
