Estoy segura de que muchas veces has escuchado acerca de ese genero literario, ¿verdad? Y tal vez se te venga a la cabeza el nombre de un autor reconocido como García Márquez, pero ¿realmente sabes lo que es el Realismo Mágico? No te preocupes que aquí te lo voy a explicar.
«Realismo Mágico» La primera vez que alguien empleó este concepto fue el crítico alemán Franz Roh, cuando estaba analizando una pintura. Con esas palabras se estaba refiriendo a una realidad modificada que él percibía en el cuadro. Sin embargo, Arturo Uslar Pietri también utilizó este concepto para describir las obras de algunos escritores latinos, y fue entonces cuando comenzó a trascender, convirtiéndose en un genero literario.
Los autores que utilizan el Realismo Mágico en sus obras, usan recursos fantásticos y lo sumergen en un entorno real, pero lo hacen de tal forma que el lector percibe esta fantasía como parte de la realidad también, es decir, no lo siente como un elemento extraño, sino como parte de la cotidianidad de los personajes.
Un ejemplo claro de esto lo podemos encontrar en muchas escenas de Cien Años de Soledad, de Gabriel García Márquez, una en particular, entre tantas otras que me llama la atención, es cuando llovió por cuatro años, once meses y dos días, y el ambiente estaba tan húmedo que los peces entraban por las ventanas y salían por las puertas.
O las mariposas amarillas que constantemente acompañaban a Mauricio Babilonia a todas partes, y que fueron desapareciendo paulatinamente después de su muerte.
También lo encontramos en La Casa de los Espíritus, de Isabel Allende, con el cabello verde y la extrema hermosura de Rosa, la bella
El género nació en tiempos difíciles, normalmente cuando los autores vivían épocas de dictadura donde ellos eran reprimidos constantemente, y por lo tanto se vieron en la necesidad de expresarse a través de las letras, usando la fantasía para explicar elementos reales que con palabras textuales, les habría representado censuras y sanciones.
Pero, a pesar de que este género es exclusivamente latinoamericano, pues nació de autores como Gabriel García Márques, Isabel Allende y Miguel Ángel Asturias, con el tiempo se fue expandiendo y también podemos encontrar autores como el estadounidense Daniel Wallace, con su obra «El Gran Pez» que nos cuenta la historia de un padre con una enfermedad terminal, que logra restaurar la deteriorada relación con su hijo a través de los relatos que él tanto despreciaba.
Amigos, hemos llegado al final de este artículo, no obstante espero que les haya satisfecho mi explicación y mis ejemplos. De verdad les recomiendo que lean Cien Años de Soledad, ya que considero que es uno de los libros donde este recurso literario está presente en casi todas sus páginas.

I'm sure you've heard many times about this literary genre, right? and maybe the name of a recognized author like García Márquez comes to your mind, but do you really know what Magical Realism is? Don't worry, I'm going to explain it to you here.
"The first time someone used this concept was the German critic Franz Roh, when he was analyzing a painting. With these words he was referring to a modified reality that he perceived in the painting. However, Arturo Uslar Pietri also used this concept to describe the works of some Latin writers and it was then when it began to transcend, becoming a literary genre.
Authors who use Magical Realism in their works use fantastic resources and immerse it in a real environment, but they do it in such a way that the reader perceives this fantasy as part of that reality as well, that is to say, he doesn't feel it as a strange element, but as part of the everyday life of the characters.
A clear example of this can be found in many scenes of One Hundred Years of Solitude of Gabriel García Márquez, one in particular, among many others that catch my attention, is when it rained for four years, eleven months and two days, and the atmosphere was so humid that fish came in through the windows and out through the doors.
Or the yellow butterflies that constantly accompanied Mauricio Babilonia everywhere, and that gradually disappeared after his death.
We also find it in The House of the Spirits of Isabel Allende with the green hair and the extreme beauty of Rosa, the beautiful.
The genre was born in difficult times, usually when the authors lived in times of dictatorship where they were constantly repressed, and therefore saw the need to express themselves through letters, using fantasy to explain real elements that with textual words, would have represented censorship and sanctions.
But, although this genre is exclusively Latin American, as it was born from authors such as Gabriel García Márques, Isabel Allende and Miguel Ángel Asturias, over time it has expanded and we can also find authors, such as the American Daniel Wallace, with his work "The Big Fish" which tells the story of a father with a terminal illness, who manages to restore the deteriorated relationship with his son through the stories he used to despise so much.
Friends, we have reached the end of this article, however I hope you have been satisfied with my explanation and my examples. I really recommend you to read One Hundred Years of Solitude, since I consider it to be one of the books where this literary resource is present in almost all its pages.
