A Trip to the Future

It was a morning in July, I got up very early and got ready to prepare everything to take a little trip on the family boat, it was a single-engine boat, my destination would be the coast of the Tabata peninsula, where I would go looking for my brother who would return home by surprise, if I said anything at 5 in the morning I left a note on the dining table that said: “Mom I'll go out for a moment and take the boat back in 2 hours. Atte. David” Before leaving, I had a Peach Daiquiri to brighten up the morning and I prepared to leave for my destination.

After loosening the moorings, taking the radio and starting the engine, I headed west towards the rising sun, the turbulent waters of the Protos Sea were beginning to rock the small wooden boat from side to side, this was common and therefore it did not cause me any concern, but 15 minutes after my departure I saw how a series of clouds approached from the west in an impetuous and fast way. Despite this, my course was still intact, at this point in the trip I was already a few miles from my destination, therefore, I kept calm.

After 10 minutes the rain was already present and the sea was becoming more and more indomitable, at this point of the route I should already be seeing solid land, but the fog covered all traces of visibility, for some reason the radio did not work and the water began to hit my face with great force, to the point of feeling how those drops seemed to tear my skin as if they were pieces of glass flying at high speed, the waves were much higher, therefore I felt how the boat rose meters and meters , to then fall at high speed and crash cut the surface into the cold waters of the sea. Everything was lost, I only asked the Virgin of the Valley to intercede for the forgiveness of my sins and take me soon to paradise.

The violence of nature continued, my ears caught all kinds of noises, my breathing was agitated, while a great pain overwhelmed me, the blood on my face mixed with the foam of the angry water, while little by little my life was fading and a deep sleep seized me. From one moment to another I opened my eyes and discovered myself on my bed. What had happened? It can't be it was all a dream! It was 4:45 in the morning of that day in July and I had to look for my brother José, it can't be! my mind was confused, checking my phone I noticed the weather forecast and a big storm was expected, now everything was very clear, I would not sail today, José would have to wait one more day in Tabata.
