No es que yo le tenga fobia a los libros para los adolecentes, es que los adolecentes han malinterpretado el verdadero concepto de la literatura: arte, cultura y pensamiento han sido desplazados por una nueva corriente absurda, una más ligada a los amores tóxicos y la sexualidad imberbe. Tenía tiempo sin hacer una reseña en esta comunidad, pero no me resistí cuando me enteré de la existencia de un libro llamado Boulevard, que apunta a esa tendencia recurrente de la autodestrucción bajo el frágil concepto del… ¿amor?
It's not that I have a phobia of books for teenagers, it's that teenagers have misunderstood the true concept of literature: art, culture and thought have been displaced by a new absurd current, one more linked to toxic loves and beardless sexuality. I hadn't done a review in this community for a long time, but I didn't resist when I found out about a book called Boulevard, which points to that recurring tendency of self-destruction under the fragile concept of… love?
No pienso desprestigiar ni a la autora Flor M. Salvador ni tampoco a su obra “Boulevard”, solo estoy acá para dar mi humilde y algo quisquillosa percepción sobre esta novela adolecente que ha sido un éxito en ventas, pero que ha enfurecido a las voces más trascendentales de la literatura. Diría mi abuela: ¡Estos jovencitos de hoy cada vez están más locos! Ay abuela, ¡Si usted supiera lo terrible que se ha vuelto esta juventud! LOL XD
I'm not going to discredit either the author Flor M. Salvador or her work "Boulevard", I'm just here to give my humble and somewhat fussy perception of this teenage novel that has been a bestseller, but has infuriated the voices most important in literature. My grandmother would say: These youngsters today are getting crazier! Oh grandmother, if you only knew how terrible this youth has become! LOL XD

Sinopsis - Synopsis
Hasley Weigel es la típica estudiante de secundaria a la que le encanta llegar tarde a clases. Tiene amigas y también una amor platónico, pero sobretodo una disposición a fijarse en lo que nadie se fija; y es así como un día conoce a Luke Howland, un chico adicto a las drogas que no teme a la autodestrucción ni a la ética de la vida. Hasley, flechada por la oscura y melancólica esencia de Luke, comienza amarlo con la pequeña esperanza de que él olvide sus adicciones y deje atrás todo aquello que lo ha estado condenando a un mundo sin esperanzas.
Hasley Weigel is your typical high school student who loves being late for class. She has friends and also a platonic love, but above all a disposition to pay attention to what nobody notices; and that is how one day she meets Luke Howland, a drug-addicted boy who is not afraid of self-destruction or the ethics of life. Lo que Hasley no supuso fue que, a pesar de todos sus sentimientos, la barrera de Luke para con la vida es más pequeña de lo que ella pensó. Poco a poco el “supuesto” amor empieza a desmoronarse y a continuación aparecen los martirios más terribles entre la culpa y la misericordia. Rivalidades amorosas y fuertes choques emocionales eclipsan una novela donde el romance viene acompañado de los efectos colaterales de la toxicidad.
What Hasley didn't assume was that, despite all her feelings, Luke's barrier to life is smaller than she thought. Little by little the "supposed" love begins to crumble and then the most terrible martyrdoms appear between guilt and mercy. Love rivalries and strong emotional shocks overshadow a novel where romance is accompanied by the side effects of toxicity.
Diseño de Personajes - Character Design
No encontré una confección madura en los personajes de Boulevard, más bien, es más de lo mismo. Tenemos una pareja que se debate en el sufrimiento toxico de un amor con dificultades morales, donde la inmadurez parece ganar terreno en un campo donde los jugadores ya perdieron el juego desde el principio. Miramos por doquier berrinches e ilusiones estrafalarias en cada perspectiva que se nos presenta. No miré una esencia compleja o atractiva, puro superficialísimo toxico y conductas desaliñadas. Fue como mirar un kínder de adolecentes sin direcciones.
I did not find a mature confection in the characters of Boulevard, rather, it is more of the same. We have a couple that struggles in the toxic suffering of a love with moral difficulties, where immaturity seems to be gaining ground in a field where the players have already lost the game from the beginning. We look everywhere for tantrums and bizarre illusions in every perspective that comes our way. I did not look at a complex or attractive essence, pure highly toxic superficiality and slovenly behavior. It was like looking at a kindergarten with no directions
Trama Argumental y estructura narrativa - Plot and narrative structure
Uno para el otro, algo así debería pasar en el amor ¿no? El problema con Boulevard es que las diversas situaciones que presenta su premisa son repetitivas; la novela intenta ser madura pero cae en el típico foso del cliché y la redundancia; no hay una visión más allá de ese apego insano de la mujer hacia un hombre destructivo, o sea, el mensaje cae en la recurrente imagen de la chica débil a la que le gusta destruir su vida por el chico al que ama ¡y en la realidad esto es completamente falso! Ya lo he dicho en mis otras reseñas, la imagen femenina parece ser vulnerada por estas novelas adolecentes.
One for the other, something like that should happen in love, right? The problem with Boulevard is that the various situations its premise presents are repetitive; the novel tries to be mature but falls into the typical pit of cliché and redundancy; there is no vision beyond that insane attachment of the woman towards a destructive man, that is, the message falls into the recurring image of the weak girl who likes to destroy her life for the boy she loves! actually this is completely false! I have already said in my other reviews, the female image seems to be violated by these teen novels.
Yo prefiero las temáticas más maduras, esas donde la mujer es emblemática y heroica. Para nada me gustan los berrinches adolecentes XD.

Conclusiones - Conclusions
Boulevard es una novela superficial, que explora el amor de una manera toxica y absurda. A pesar de que toca el tema de las drogas, la novela no pasa de la torpe relación adolecente, los triángulos amorosos y las predecibles conductas adolecentes. No hay un matiz que devele un mensaje cautivador, o solemne, o apegado a la realidad más triste del mundo de las metanfetaminas. Es un libro rebuscado, con un muy mal desarrollo. Tal vez el azaro de las editoriales por ganar dinero a costa de una novela superficial ha sido la consecuencia de tanto desastre narrativo. Bueno, para los grandes maestros de la literatura, Boulevard no es más que otra del montón.
Boulevard is a superficial novel that explores love in a toxic and absurd way. Although it touches on the topic of drugs, the novel does not go beyond the awkward adolescent relationship, the love triangles and the predictable adolescent behaviors. There is not a nuance that reveals a captivating message, or solemn, or attached to the saddest reality of the world of methamphetamines. It is a far-fetched book, with a very poor development. Perhaps the randomness of publishers to earn money at the cost of a superficial novel has been the consequence of so much narrative disaster. Well, for the great masters of literature, Boulevard is just another of the bunch.

Jajaja si! Es lo que las editoriales aprovechan para venderle a los jóvenes de hoy. Esa clase de ensueño estúpido de un amor falso y lleno de estereotipos. Es triste, pero es una realidad que preocupa mucho 😔.
