Hello, internet people! Everything alright? Today I want to tell you about my impression of the book Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, written by the famous Magizoologist Newt Scamander.
¡Hola, gente de internet! ¿Todo bien? Hoy quiero hablarles de mi impresión del libro Animales fantásticos y dónde encontrarlos, escrito por el famoso Magizoologo Newt Scamander.
This is actually a project of J.K Rowling with Comic Relief (a charity that helps poor children). The writer would make three special edition books (of which I have 2 so far) Quidditch Through the Ages, The Tales of Beedle the Bard and the one that brings us here Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. But the way Rowling wrote them, suggests that she did not do it herself but "other authors" and that Dumbledore and the authors gave permission for the copies owned by Hogwarts to be distributed to muggle publishers (disguising the books as magical books for entertainment, not real ones) for a good cause as the money collected from the sale of the children would go to poor children.
En realidad este es un proyecto de J.K Rowling con Comic Relief (una organización benéfica que ayuda a niños pobres). La escritora haría tres libros de edición especial (de los que por ahora tengo 2) Quidditch a través de los tiempos, Los cuentos de Beedle el bardo y el que nos trae aquí Animales fantásticos y donde encontrarlos. Pero la forma en la que Rowling los escribió, sugiere que no lo hizo ella sino "otros autores" y que Dumbledore y los autores dieron permiso de que se distribuyeran los ejemplares que posee Hogwarts en editoriales muggles (disfrazando los libros de libros mágicos para entretener, y no reales) por una buena causa ya que el dinero recogido de la venta de los niños iría a niños pobres.
Albus Dumbledore writes the foreword to this edition at Newt's own request. Albus explains to the wizards, the purpose of making available to Muggles the copy of the book belonging to the boy who lived, although the latter did not like the idea very much as he had made silly notes with his friends in the book, however the Muggle publisher and Newt thought it was even better as it made it funnier. The edition (Dumbledore also explains) would be on sale at Flourish and Blotts (Diagon Alley bookshop) and also in all Muggle bookshops, he also adds that wizards who want to donate can do so at Gringotts, he also warns that the book is enchanted with the thief's curse and so you should not read it without having bought it. Finally, Dumbledore warns Muggles that the creatures described in the book are imaginary 😂 🤣 😂 🤣 😂 🤣 🤣.
Albus Dumbledore hace el prólogo de esta edición por solicitud del propio Newt. Albus le explica a los magos, el propósito de poner a la disposición de los muggles la copia del ejemplar perteneciente al niño que vivió, aunque a este no le agradara mucho la idea ya que había hecho notas tontas con sus amigos en el libro, sin embargo a la editorial muggle como a Newt les pareció mejor aún ya que lo hacía más gracioso. La edición (explica también Dumbledore) estaría a la venta en Flourish y Blotts (librería del callejón Diagon) y en todas las librerías muggles, también añade que los magos que quieran donar pueden hacerlo en Gringotts, además advierte que el libro está encantado con la maldición del ladrón y que por eso no debes leerlo sin haberlo comprado. Para finalizar, Dumbledore advierte a los muggles que las criaturas descritas en el libro son imaginarias ¡Si, claro! 😂 🤣
I have to give a standing ovation for the creativity and detail that J.K. has in her writing, as it literally reads like a textbook, it is highly detailed and explained step by step according to the types of creatures. Now we will stop talking about J.K to talk about its real author, Newt Scamander 🤣😂. The way in which he explains each type of creature: Beast, beings, animals, etc, shows the affection and admiration that the author feels for each one of them (no matter how dangerous they are).
Tengo que aplaudir de pie la creatividad y detalle que tiene J.K al escribir, ya que literalmente parece un libro de texto, está altamente detallado y explicado paso a paso según los tipos de criaturas. Ahora dejaremos de hablar de J.K para hablar de su verdadero autor, Newt Scamander 🤣😂. La forma en la que explica cada tipo de criatura: Bestia, seres, animales, etc, hace denotar el cariño y admiración que siente el autor por cada una de ellas (sin importar lo peligrosas que sean)
In addition to explaining the classification of each creature, he also tells us about their appearance, what they eat, their habitat, their behaviour and the classification that the Ministry of Magic gives to each one according to its dangerousness. Also, Newt introduces us to the history of magic in the part of magical creatures and the processes of the department of control of magical creatures of the ministry to finally classify the creatures by type, as well as other interesting facts.
Además de explicarnos la clasificación de cada criatura, también nos habla de su apariencia, lo que comen, su habitad, su comportamiento y la clasificación que el ministerio de magia le aporta a cada una según su peligrosidad. También, Newt hace una introducción a la historia de la magia en la parte de las criaturas mágicas y los procesos del departamento de control de las criaturas mágicas del ministerio para clasificar finalmente a las criaturas por tipos, además de otros datos bastante interesantes.
I must say that of all the creatures described in this book, my favourites without a doubt are the Unicorns, the Niffler and the Puffskein
Debo decir que de todas las criaturas descritas en este libro, mis preferidas sin dudas son los Unicornios, los Escarbatos y los Micropuff.
Puffskein:
It's a round creature, covered in soft fur, and is ideal for pets as they love to be cuddled and are dependent on cuddling. They have quite a long tongue with which they even feed on spiders and beetles. They are very cuddly and docile and when happy they emit a soft purr.
Es una criatura redonda, cubierta de un pelaje suave, es ideal para ser mascota ya que de hecho le encantan las caricias y son dependientes de ellas. Tienen una lengua bastante larga con la que se alimentan incluso de arañas y escarabajos. Son muy adorables y dóciles y cuando están contentos emiten un ronroneó suave.
Unicorns:
Unicorns are magical horses whose horn, coat and blood have very powerful magical properties and are used in the making of potions. They are born golden in colour, becoming silver in their teens and pearly white in adulthood. They tend to hide from humans, but they trust females more than they trust a masculus, and have such a fast gallop that they are extremely difficult to catch.
Los Unicornios son caballos mágicos cuyo cuerno, pelaje y sangre tienen propiedades mágicas muy poderosas y que se emplean en la realización de pociones. Nacen con un color dorado, alcanzando un color plateado en su adolescencia y blanco perla en su adultez. Suelen ocultarse de los humanos pero confían más en las féminas que en un másculo y tienen un galope tan veloz que es tremendamente difícil atraparlos.
Niffle:
Scarabs have black fur and long snouts. With a friendly and affectionate personality, they are used by magic benches or more properly by goblins to dig for treasure (as they have an incredible weakness for shiny things) but despite their adorable and playful behaviour, it is not recommended to keep them as pets or at least not inside houses, as in their eagerness to obtain shiny things (which they put in a bag they have in their tummy) they can destroy a house. They usually live in burrows and have up to six young per birth.
Los escarbatos tienen un pelaje negro y hocico largo. De personalidad amistosa y cariñosa, son utilizados por bancas mágicas o más propiamente por duendes para que escarben en busca de tesoros (ya que tiene una debilidad increíble por las cosas brillantes) pero pese a su comportamiento adorable y juguetón, no se recomienda tenerlos de mascota o al menos no dentro de las casas, ya que en su afán de obtener cosas brillantes (las cuales meten en una bolsa que tienen en la pancita) pueden destruir una casa. Suelen vivir en madrigueras y tienen hasta seis crías por parto.
