Welcome to Hive Book Club Highlight #15

Last Week, Many of us heard the news that one of our moderators @jauregui98 is fighting Covid-19. For further details, read a post from @roadstories Jauregui98 we are with you, BE STRONG!. And as part of our solidarity, 50% of this post will go to @jauregui98. Hive Book Club team and the community appreciate what you've been doing thus far for the community.

Another news, we are also implementing new reward system on the highlighted authors to make everything fair for everyone in the community and the moderators who work behind the scene. Since Hive Book Club started, we have tried several ways to reward the authors and contributors in our community. Now, after some consideration, we think that giving some beneficiaries for the author highlighted will be the fairest and easiest way to reward them for their contribution.

This week, the authors highlighted will receive 5% beneficiaries instead 0.100 Hive tip that is usually distributed. However, another 5 authors will also still receive 0.100 Hive tips. So essentially we will pick 10 authors during our highlight and only 5 will be chosen to be included in the highlight.

How Do We Choose The Highlighted Posts?

All of you must be wondering how we picked the authors who get into the highlight. As some of the good curation projects out there, our highlighted authors are also handpicked to ensure that we diversify the content and the recommendations in the highlight. We want this highlight to be a place where people get inspiration, a place to learn something new, and even finding a recommendation.

Hence, throughout the week, the moderators will check the community and manually hand pick the posts. Some factors includes : the post subject, post quality, engagement, personal voice, and general effort.

Finally, Stay Tuned For Upcoming Contest!

The team is still cooking a sweet contest with sweet rewards as well! Subscribe and stay tuned for it!

Here are five highlighted entries and posts from HivebookClub this week in no particular order:

AuthorTitleDescription
@kaywoodsOver Her Dead Body (The Quirk Files, #1) by A.B. Morgan''The reader is quickly brought into Gabby’s world as it crumbles around her, sharing her confusion and desperation at what can have gone so wrong for her to be officially declared dead! After that, a puzzle ensues to figure out who did what and why, who can or cannot be trusted, and where on earth this is all leading.''
@pibaraRagnarok-Conspiracy World-Building: DRM, printer-drones and base''The world-building part of my novel is defined as open-world, meaning there are no copy rights on the world I created for my novel. Other than the story and the characters and my actual novel, the world building is public domain and any author wanting to use my world building in their work is free to do so.''
@wiseagentBOOK REVIEW: "Asphyxia" (2021)''The world is going through one of its most problematic and sensitive moments: the Coronavirus pandemic (which is triggering a real wave of problems in several aspects, where health is being directly attacked from all sides... culminating in the infection and deaths of a large number of people).''
@gleceriobertoSticking to Your Goals: The 4 Disciplines of Execution (Book Review)''The book states that the reason that most people don't achieve their goals is because of the "whirlwind" of other activities that they need to do in their day-to-day struggles. This hits hard because I used to wonder why I couldn't execute my important goals before even though I thought my plans were really solid. The challenge is to work above the whirlwind or to chose among your whirlwind which one you can spend 20% of your time to significantly improve your performance or be closer to your goals.''
@javyeslava.photo(ESP-ENG) Reseña de libro - La historia del loco // Book Review - The story of the madman.''This is one of the books that I have in my library which, and I don't know why, I consider it a bit undervalued compared to the others. And it's strange because now that I revisit it I find it a true gem of a story that is very different and disturbing in relation to the other Katzenbach titles.''
