We have reached the fifth book and we continue to mention the famous author John Katzenbach but this time with one of his best copies, A Perfect Ending. It was quite difficult to choose between the twelve books that I have about him and even so I can say with enough clarity that I still have not shown the one that for me is the best, we leave that for the end.
When we believe that we have already read all series of murders and police suspense plots, Katzenbach appears with a new story that leaves us cold and wanting to continue reading this captivating genre. Today's story does not escape these characteristics and it is for that reason that today I come to share it with everyone.

This story begins in New York City with letters sent to three people. A short distance from each other, a couple of kilometers perhaps, live three totally unknown women, they do not know each other. The first one is a teacher, the second a doctor, and the third a student; what none of them know is that they will soon be under the siege of a deranged psychopath who all he wants is to carry out a final work of art.
The strange thing about this whole thing is that the three women are redheads and very vulnerable, for different reasons. The murderer observing this weakness informs them that he is going to kill her but without telling them how, when or where. The only thing they think is that he is always around watching their steps closer and closer.
The psychological game of this murderer has begun and it comes down to two options: Either they insist on trying to change the ending of this terrible story or they allow themselves to be defeated by this crime mind? - it all depends on them.

Let's start by talking about "the big bad wolf" who is nothing more than this killer obsessed with killing. He is a man who is over 50 years old and is a novel writer who wants to be recognized worldwide, he wants people to talk about him and for that he is convinced that the only way to do it is by committing a series of murders and capturing them on the pages of a book.
A very manipulative man who likes to be in control of the whole situation and play with the minds of his victims. This trait is something that killers always have in Katzenbach's books, they are very methodical and organized beings.
As for the 3 women, Jordan, Sarah and Karen, all with their problems are taken to extreme situations after receiving the letters from this murderer. In general terms, there are three women who are alone, one because her friends do not appreciate her, another because she lost her family in a traffic accident and the third because she decided to do so.
The story is incredible because it shows us how helpless people can be in the face of the unknown, in the face of fear and harassment. How these feelings completely override your ability to make decisions and logic, leaving you at the mercy of the mind that controls you without the need to see or touch you.
In addition to the fact that the characters are extremely complete and with very complex personalities. Each one has its own story, which could very well be anyone's story, which in the end always ends up being united with those of the rest of the protagonists. The strong point of this author is the development of his characters, always in all his books they are a 10 out of 10.
In general terms and as if the title says it, the end is crazy that I did not expect. The level of empathy that one comes to feel for these three women is very great. If you have the opportunity to read this book without a doubt do so, it is one of the best by this author and I am sure that you will not be disappointed.
