Today I received a very special invitation from my dear friend @astrea, I've never had the opportunity to participate in a Reading community, so I'm excited to be able to interact in initiatives like the one that has brought me here.
¿Cuál es tu momento o lugar favorito para leer?
El momento perfecto para leer, es aquel en el que mi mente busca ordenar y enfocar mis ideas, vivimos en una hiperactividad constante, una rutina agobiante y una sensación de que a pesar que podemos tener todo, nos falta algo, ese "algo" que no sabemos describir ni encajar en nuestros días. He logrado poder organizarme para no perder el hábito de la lectura y sumergirme entre letras que logran trasladarme a momentos donde la imaginación no tiene límites.
What is your favourite time or place to read?
The perfect time to read is when my mind seeks to order and focus my ideas. We live in a constant hyperactivity, an overwhelming routine and a feeling that although we can have everything, we are missing something, that "something" that we don't know how to describe or fit into our days. I have managed to organise myself so as not to lose the habit of reading and to immerse myself in letters that transport me to moments where imagination has no limits.
¿Qué te hace disfrutar de un libro?
El estado de ánimo puede influir mucho a la hora de elegir un título en una librería, recuerdo salir a pasear entre librerías en búsqueda de ese libro que me transportara a lugares vinculados con la ciencia ficción llenos de historia (Caballo de Troya), a reír a carcajadas con las ocurrencias de Ana Flor Raucci (Soy la versión XP), a "Tomar una taza de chocolate para el alma", a conocer de historia, de la mano de Oscar Yanes y su libro "Así son las Cosas", superación personal, la conexión mente - cuerpo, donde la edad no es impedimento para conservar la vitalidad, belleza, creatividad; autores de renombre: Deepak Chopra, Carlos Fraga, Wayne Dyer, Miguel Ruiz, son algunos de mis favoritos, por la forma en que abordan temas que me han ayudado a crecer a través del tiempo.
What makes you enjoy a book?
I remember going for a stroll through bookshops in search of that book that would transport me to places linked to science fiction full of history (Trojan Horse), to laugh out loud at Ana Flor Raucci's witticisms (I am the XP version), to "Having a cup of chocolate for the soul", to learn about history, with Oscar Yanes and his book "Así son las Cosas", personal improvement, the mind-body connection, where age is not an impediment to preserve vitality, beauty and creativity; renowned authors: Deepak Chopra, Carlos Fraga, Wayne Dyer, Miguel Ruiz, are some of my favourites, for the way they approach topics that have helped me grow through time.
¿Le gusta leer al aire libre, antes de acostarse o en el autobús de camino al trabajo?
Por lo general, siempre despierto bien tempranito, tengo un hermoso balcón que dirige mi vista hacia la montaña y el cielo, por lo que es el instante ideal, solitario, reconfortante, donde puedo conectarme con mi ser interior, alimentar mi alma y dar calma para iniciar un día de manera ordenada y tranquila.
De niña aprendí a leer con la Biblia junto a mi abuela, ella no sabía leer ni escribir y con todo el amor del mundo ella me levantaba cada mañana para que le enseñara ese mensaje especial que las Sagradas Escrituras otorgaba cada mañana.
Do you like to read outdoors, before going to bed or on the bus on the way to work?
Generally, I always wake up very early, I have a beautiful balcony that directs my view towards the mountains and the sky, so it is the ideal moment, solitary, comforting, where I can connect with my inner self, nourish my soul and give calm to start a day in an orderly and peaceful way.
As a child I learned to read with the Bible with my grandmother, she did not know how to read or write and with all the love in the world she would wake me up every morning to teach her that special message that the Holy Scriptures gave her every morning.
¿Te enfocas en el desarrollo del personaje, los mensajes reflexivos o el nivel de intriga que genera una trama en ti?
Todo depende del género que haya cautivado mi atención, recuerdo haberme involucrado
con la experiencia de vida de mi primer libro de superación personal de la mano de Louise L. Hay y su libro ¡Vivir!; darme cuenta que por años había sido condicionada a la hora de colocar límites y me sentí plenamente identificada con Anne Katherine, en su libro "Límites: Donde tu terminas, yo empiezo"; o la narrativa en primera persona de Anna Frank, una niña que vivió sus mas tiernos años en total oscuridad, donde descubrió valores que fortalecieron sus días; no puedo dejar de lado ese toque pícaro que nos deja Luis Fernández en su serie de libros "Sexo Sentido", relatos de mujeres en medio de tabúes, deseos, frustraciones y secretos que envuelve el complejo mundo femenino.
Do you focus on character development, thoughtful messages or the level of intrigue a plot generates in you?
It all depends on the genre that has captivated my attention.
I remember being involved with the life experience of my first self-improvement book by Louise L. Hay and her book Live! I realised that for years I had been conditioned to set boundaries and I identified fully with Anne Katherine in her book "Boundaries: Where you end, I begin"; or the first person narrative of Anne Frank, a girl who lived her most tender years in total darkness, where she discovered values that strengthened her days; I cannot leave aside that mischievous touch that Luis Fernandez leaves us in his series of books "Sex Sense", stories of women in the midst of taboos, desires, frustrations and secrets that envelop the complex female world.
