Saludos hivers, me encanta leer y es por ello que me sumo a la iniciativa de @nathyortiz para poder compartir impresiones sobre algunos de mis libros favoritos. Para el primer dÃa de este reto nos piden compartir un libro clásico y yo escogà Frankenstein, una obra de la lteratura.
Cuando era niña vi la pelÃcula clásica de Hollywood llamada Frankenstein en la actuaba un famoso actor llamado Boris Karloff, ver ese hombre gigante, lleno de cicatrices que habÃan creado en un laboratorio me parecÃa la cosa más horrible del mundo. Después de adulta me interesé un poco por leer la novela de la que se habÃan basado tantas pelÃculas y series de televisión.
Greetings hivers, I love reading and that is why I join the @nathyortiz initiative to be able to share impressions about some of my favorite books. For the first day of this challenge we are asked to share a classic book and I chose Frankenstein, a work of literature.
When I was a child I saw the classic Hollywood movie called Frankenstein starring a famous actor named Boris Karloff, seeing that giant man, full of scars that they had created in a laboratory seemed to me the most horrible thing in the world. After I was an adult, I became a little interested in reading the novel from which so many movies and television series had been based.
En las pelÃculas que he visto de Frankenstein me percaté que las personas tienden a creer que es el nombre del monstruo, cuando en realidad este nunca tuvo nombre, pocos dÃas un amigo me prestó el libro, cuando lo comencé a leer me encontré con una breve biografÃa de la autora que me despertó mucho más el interés por su obra, descubrà que era una mujer maravillosa y apasionada, que vivió en el siglo diecinueve y que tenÃa ideas muy adelantadas a su tiempo. A medida que me adentraba en la historia su narrativa me encantó, Shelley describÃa de una forma bella y profunda las emociones humanas y eso me atrapó por completo.
In the Frankenstein movies that I have seen I noticed that people tend to believe that it is the name of the monster, when in reality it never had a name, a few days a friend lent me the book, when I began to read it I found a brief Biography of the author that piqued my interest in her work much more, I discovered that she was a wonderful and passionate woman, who lived in the nineteenth century and who had ideas far ahead of her time. As she delved into her story, I loved her narrative, Shelley described human emotions in a beautiful and profound way and that completely caught up with me.
Me di cuenta que la obra era bastante diferente a lo que se mostraba en las pelÃculas, por ejemplo, me percaté de que VÃctor Frankenstein era un hombre sumamente egoÃsta, que le importaba poco el sufrimiento de ese ser vivo que el mismo habÃa hecho, él era realmente su padre, este hecho no lo vi con claridad hasta que leà el libro. La criatura asesinó a varias personas muy cercanas al doctor VÃctor, lo hizo por venganza y odio hacia su padre quien no lo querÃa, uno podrÃa pensar que esto no tiene justificación alguna, pero recordemos que la criatura fue prácticamente abandonada desde que abrió sus ojos a la vida, ella se encontró frente a un mundo totalmente cruel que lo despreciaba por su aspecto y no lo comprendÃa.
Mary Shelley escribió esta historia en momentos en que la ciencia comenzaba apenas sus verdaderos progresos en los campos de la biologÃa y la ingenierÃa, ella supo mezclar estos hechos en una obra que es catalogada como la primera novela de ciencia ficción de la historia de la literatura.
I realized that the work was quite different from what was shown in the movies, for example, I realized that Victor Frankenstein was an extremely selfish man, that he cared little about the suffering of that living being that he himself had made, he it was really his father, this fact I did not see clearly until I read the book. The creature murdered several people very close to Dr. VÃctor, he did it out of revenge and hatred towards his father who did not love him, one might think that this has no justification, but remember that the creature was practically abandoned since he opened his eyes to life, she found herself facing a totally cruel world that despised him for his appearance and did not understand him.
Mary Shelley wrote this story at a time when science was just beginning its true progress in the fields of biology and engineering, she knew how to mix these facts in a work that is classified as the first science fiction novel in the history of literature .
