The book titled"TOMORROW" is written by an old student in my school, Akwa Ibom State college of education Afaha Nsit. It's a short interesting story that portrays what has been happening in our society today.

The play has 11 characters comprising of both male and female. The names in the play are;

  • First woman
  • Second woman
  • Third woman
  • Hepu
  • Mite
  • Mma arit
  • Eka Okon
  • Ete Okon
  • Visitor
  • Mma iquo
  • Mma mfon
  • Aniefiok

It is a sad story acted in a local scene (village to be precised) where a boy by name Aniefiok struggled to go to school because he was from a very poor home. Infact his family was the poorest in "Oyam Akak" village. His parents by name Hepu and MMA Arit were not bouyant enough to feed themselves in a day not to mention sending their children to higher institution.

Their families were the talk of the village in every nook and cranny, village squares and market squares. It was indeed a bad, sad, and terrible situation for them.

First woman, second woman, third woman, Mma mfon and MMA iquo were the top gossipers who gossiped about them at every slightest opportunity they had. Mma iquo in particular mocked Mma Arit and Hepu, Aniefiok's parents so well that they were ashamed when they see their fellow villagers.

Aniefiok's parents sold all their house properties including their only piece of land just to send him to school. Aniefiok on the other hand was intelligent and hardworking, he didn't allow all the efforts of his parents waste or be in vain. He studied hard and passed with good grades.

To cut the whole story short, Aniefiok came back with good grades and an excellent result as well as an appointment letter where he was asked to start work immediately in one of the prominent and richest company in their village.

It was indeed a good thing the lord had done for them. They were happy and they thanked God. The gossipers heard what happened and so they decided to go and see for themselves. When they got there, the found out that what they heard was actually true.

They were so broken, they begged for forgiveness and promised not to look down on anyone again. Aniefiok's family embraced them and forgave them. They all lived happily ever after.

The story is a short one and has many good moral lessons. It's highly recommended for pupils in primary and secondary schools. The tenses used are easy to comprehend (understand). It has 172 pages and is written in act and scenes.

Thank you 😊
