On this occasion I stop by the community to talk about the book A Fairy Tale Treasure, which is a compilation of classic children's stories accompanied by magnificent illustrations. Of considerable size, this selection of stories is designed to be enjoyed by generations as it encourages the imagination of children in their first readings.
Although in these times technology has left printed books in the background, A Treasury of Fairy Tales is an edition that should be preserved because it is difficult to see another similar copy, it is practically a treasure because it also presents the classic stories in simple language, ideal for the youngest members of the household.
As I indicated, something that stands out in this book are the illustrations by Annie-Claude Martín. Her visual proposal moves away from the typical cartoonish children's drawings, opting for more elaborate characters and landscapes that are attractive for their design, as they have more realistic features, adapted to different contexts.
As for the stories, I selected Hansel and Gretel, Rapunzel and Rumpelstiltskin, whose authors are the famous brothers Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm. These tales have become benchmarks of children's literature and have transcended for dealing with themes that are still relevant today. They are also recognized by the number of versions that have been presented both in film and television, becoming part of universal culture.
The forest and its elements are presented as the setting to bring the stories to life. Rapunzel is a maiden who is confined in a tower, by order of an evil witch. One day, a young man was passing by and Rapunzel pulled her hair through the bars, as if it were a rope, to ascend and rescue her. Although the story seems somewhat innocent, considering that it was published in 1812, there are elements that lead us to reflect on evil, danger, young love and the human condition.
In Rapunzel we can see the themes of confinement, freedom and love. Annie-Claude Martin's visual interpretation brings a melancholic air, the protagonist's eyes convey despair and loneliness. Meanwhile, the character of the witch appears gray, ugly and selfish. The stereotype that has transcended to this time remains there, the long nose, the messy hair, the warts on the face and the pointed fingers are characteristics that are accentuated in the design presented in these pages.
On the other hand, the story Rumpelstiltskin explores themes such as greed and cunning. One could also go deeper by raising the importance of names and their meaning. A matter of interest because each person does not choose what to be called but that such responsibility is left to parents or other relatives. A subject that could be the beginning of a philosophical discussion. I liked the representation of Rumpelstiltskin, it has a mysterious air, highlighting its ambiguous and dangerous nature. Goblins are definitely not to be trusted.
In Hansel and Gretel we find a desolate scenario, the survival and abandonment of two children by their parents. Here the focus is placed on innocence and the threat posed by the witch's sweet house. The deception is shown from several perspectives, reflecting the ambiguity of danger. An aspect that serves as a teaching tool for children.
A fairy tale treasure is a work that highlights the richness of classic stories that are still relevant in today's society. In its pages we will find stories for children to learn to question certain behaviors and know how to distinguish good from evil.

En esta ocasión paso por la comunidad para hablar del libro Un tesoro de cuento de hadas, el cual es una compilación de relatos infantiles clásicos acompañados de unas magníficas ilustraciones. De tamaño considerable, esta selección de cuentos está concebida para su disfrute por generaciones ya que fomenta la imaginación de los niños en sus primeras lecturas.
Si bien en estos tiempos la tecnología ha dejado en segundo plano a los libros impresos, Un tesoro de cuentos de hadas es una edición que se debe conservar porque es complicado volver a observar otro ejemplar similar, es prácticamente un tesoro porque también nos presenta los cuentos clásicos mediante un lenguaje sencillo, ideal para los más pequeños de la casa.
Como indiqué, algo que resalta en este libro son las ilustraciones a cargo de Annie-Claude Martín. Su propuesta visual se aleja de los típicos dibujos infantiles caricaturescos, optando por personajes y paisajes más elaborados que resultan atractivos por su diseño, pues poseen características más realistas, adaptadas a diferentes contextos.
En cuanto a los relatos, seleccioné Hansel y Gretel, Rapunzel y Rumpelstiltskin, cuyos autores son los célebres hermanos Jacob y Wilhelm Grimm. Estos cuentos han pasado a ser referentes de la literatura infantil y han trascendido por tratar temas que aún en esta época mantienen vigencia. También se reconocen por la cantidad de versiones que se han presentado tanto en cine como en televisión pasando a ser parte de la cultura universal.

Si bien el planteamiento luce un tanto inocente, tomando en cuenta que fue publicado en 1812, hay elementos que nos llevan a reflexionar sobre la maldad, el peligro, el amor juvenil y la condición humana.
En Rapunzel podemos advertir la temática del encierro, la libertad y el amor. La interpretación visual de Annie-Claude Martín aporta un aire melancólico, los ojos de la protagonista transmiten desesperación y soledad. En tanto, el personaje de la bruja se vislumbra gris, feo y egoísta. El estereotipo que ha trascendido hasta este tiempo permanece allí, la nariz larga, el cabello desordenado, las verrugas en el rostro y los dedos punteagudos son características que se acentúan en el diseño que nos presentan estas páginas.
Por otro lado, el cuento Rumpelstiltskin explora temas como la codicia y la astucia. También se podría ir a un plano más profundo al plantear la importancia de los nombres y su significado. Cuestión de interés porque cada persona no elige cómo llamarse sino que tal responsabilidad queda en los padres u otros familiares. Asunto que podría ser el inicio de una discusión de carácter filósofico. Me agradó la representación de Rumpelstiltskin, posee un aire misterioso, resaltando su naturaleza ambigua y peligrosa. Definitivamente no se debe confiar en duendes.
En Hansel y Gretel encontramos un escenario desolador, la supervivencia y el abandono de dos niños por parte de sus padres. Acá se coloca el foco en la inocencia y la amenaza que representa la dulce casa de la bruja. El engaño se muestra desde varias perspectivas, lo que permite reflejar la ambigüedad del peligro. Aspecto que sirve de enseñanza para los niños.
Un tesoro de cuento de hadas es una obra que resalta la riqueza de los relatos clásicos que aún tienen vigencia en la sociedad actual. En sus páginas encontraremos historias para que los niños aprendan a cuestionar ciertos comportamientos y sepan distinguir el bien del mal.
