Who am I as a reader?
This is the question I ask myself at the beginning of this publication thanks to the contest of the book club community in the hive, for this journey of discovery I will answer 4 questions that are part of the contest I will do it as an open book, with all the letters that imply, in advance, I thank you if you decided to join me in this adventure.
¿Quién soy como lectora?
Es la pregunta que me hago al iniciar esta publicación gracias al concurso de la comunidad del club del libro en hive, para este viaje de descubrimiento responderé 4 preguntas que forman parte del concurso lo haré como un libro abierto, con todas las letras que eso implica, de antemano te doy las gracias si decidiste acompañarme en esta aventura.
What is your favorite time or place to read?
Any time is perfect for reading, a good reader will not waste a queue where he must wait a few minutes to look for that digital or traditional book and read his favorite story to recreate or learn what is inside those pages.
However, my perfect time is when there is no electricity because without electricity you can't work as in my case I am a full-time content creator, you can't wash, because the water goes off, you can't do many things.
So when everything is quiet and I have nothing more important to do, it's the right time to relax and read. I prefer to do it in the backyard of the house under the shade of my favorite tree and feel the cool breeze touching my face while listening to the birds that emit their sounds resting from the same tree or traveling through the air. At that moment when my senses are already relaxed, I get ready to read and I forget everything around me and even the time passes without realizing it, I can read several hours in a row if no one or nothing interrupts me.
I have even spent a whole day reading until my body warns me when I have been behind the letters for many hours because my eyes start to burn and heat up like flames, ocular hypertension also known as glaucoma appears and reminds me that I must stop for my health if I want to continue seeing letters in the future.
¿Cuál es tu momento o lugar favorito para leer?
Cualquier momento es perfecto para leer, un buen lector no desperdiciará una cola donde deba esperar algunos minutos para buscar ese libro digital o tradicional y leer su historia favorita para recrearse o aprender lo que está dentro de esas páginas.
Sin embargo, mi momento perfecto es cuando no hay electricidad, ya que sin electricidad no se puede trabajar como en mi caso que soy creadora de contenido a tiempo completo, no sé puede lavar, porque se va el agua, no se pueden hacer muchas cosas.
Entonces cuando todo está en silencio y no tengo nada más importante que hacer, es el momento adecuado para relajarme y leer. Prefiero hacerlo en el patio de la casa debajo de la sombra de mi árbol favorito y sentir la brisa fresca que toca mi cara, mientras escucho los pájaros que emiten sus sonidos reposando del mismo árbol o viajando por el aire. En ese instante cuando mis sentidos ya están relajados me dispongo a leer y se me olvida todo lo que me rodea e incluso el tiempo pasa sin darme cuenta, puedo leer varias horas seguidas, si nadie ni nada me interrumpe.
Incluso he pasado todo un día leyendo hasta que mi cuerpo me avisa cuando llevo muchas horas detrás de las letras, porque mis ojos comienzan arden y se calientan como llamas, la hipertensión ocular también conocida como glaucoma aparece y me recuerda que debo parar por mi salud si quiero seguir viendo letras en el futuro.
What makes you enjoy a book?
Its content, that the message that is written is simple and captivating, regardless of the topic it deals with if the author handles an attractive language and awakens my interest that will make me want to continue and not stop until I finish.
In addition to its content, I can enjoy a book if I accompany it with a piece of cake and coffee, for me that is the perfect combination.
¿Qué te hace disfrutar de un libro?
Su contenido, que el mensaje que está escrito sea sencillo y cautivador, independientemente del tema que trate, si el autor maneja un lenguaje atractivo y despiertan mi interés eso me hará querer seguir y no parar hasta terminar.
Además de su contenido, puedo disfrutar un libro si lo acompaño con un pedazo de torta y café, para mí esa es la combinación perfecta.
Do you like to read outdoors, before going to bed, or on the bus on the way to work?
I like to read at any time, but it also depends on the content.
Sometimes in the afternoons, I walk around the house and around the yard accompanying my 90-year-old grandmother, she holds me tightly by the wrists of my hand and literally forces me to walk, while I try to get my grandmother to drain her energy and thus exhaust her as much as possible, because that will guarantee that she goes to sleep around 9 or 10 at night, and everyone in the family can rest, while I do that activity I read the publications of other hivers with the hand that is free, using my cell phone. If my grandmother stops for a moment I take the opportunity to comment on a post and continue walking around the house.
Doing that allows my mom and aunt to do another activity while I take care of my grandmother. It's not my favorite relaxing reading, but it's also a way to read and make the most of the time.
However, if reading requires more reflection or comprehension I prefer to do it sitting motionless in a space with no noise and nothing to disturb or interrupt me, my favorite place to read is on the patio surrounded by nature or lying on my bed, I enjoy reading anywhere, a bus is also welcome.
¿Te gusta leer al aire libre, antes de acostarte o en el autobús de camino al trabajo?
Me gusta leer en cualquier comento, pero también va a depender del contenido, me explico.
A veces en las tardes me corresponde caminar alrededor de la casa y por el patio acompañando a mi abuela de 90 años, ella me agarra fuerte de las muñecas de la mano y me obliga literalmente a caminar, mientras intento que mi abuela drene su energía y así agotarla lo más que pueda, porque eso garantizará que se acueste a dormir a eso de las 9 o 10 de la noche, y todos en la familia podamos descansar, mientras hago esa actividad voy leyendo las publicaciones de otros hivers con la mano que me queda libre, usando el celular. Si mi abuela se detiene por un momento aprovecho para comentar algún post y continuó caminando por la casa.
Hacer eso permite que mi mamá y mi tía hagan otra actividad mientras yo me encargo de mi abuela. No es la lectura relajante que más me gusta, pero también es una forma de leer y aprovechar el tiempo.
Sin embargo, si la lectura requiere de más reflexión o comprensión prefiero hacerlo sentada sin movimiento en un espacio sin ruidos y sin nada que me moleste o interrumpa, mi lugar favorito para leer es en el patio rodeado de naturaleza o acostada en mi cama, disfruto de la lectura en cualquier lugar, un autobús también es bienvenido.
Do you focus on character development, thoughtful messages, or the level of intrigue a plot generates in you?
Intrigue is the spark of every curious person, I like it. Thoughtful messages grab me and a story with a good character hooks me. I don't have a definitive answer to this question.
I am a person who does not have a defined line as a reader, what is clear is that I like to read more than I like to write, my dream job would be to read all day, and it is very curious because it is a habit that I started late after 20 years old the reason, I had such a boring job that made me take the books to pass the time, of course at that time there were no cell phones or social networks, I just feel very old with that comment, but I'm glad I lived in that era.
I'm the kind of reader that if I get sleepy and grab a book it goes away completely, people look at me funny when I say that because most of them get sleepy reading.
¿Te centras en el desarrollo del personaje, los mensajes reflexivos o el nivel de intriga que una trama genera en ti?
La intriga es la chispa de toda persona curiosa, me gusta. Los mensajes reflexivos me atrapan y una historia con un buen personaje me engancha. No tengo una respuesta definitiva para esta pregunta.
Soy una persona que no tiene una línea definida como lectora, lo que está claro es que me gusta leer más de lo que me gusta escribir, mi trabajo soñado sería leer todo el día, y es muy curioso porque es un hábito que empecé tarde después de los 20 años la razón, tenía una trabajo tan aburrido que me hizo tomar los libros para pasar el tiempo, claro en esa época no existían los celulares ni las redes sociales, me acabo de sentir muy vieja con ese comentario, pero me alegro de haber vivido en esa época.
Soy el tipo de lector que si tiene sueño y agarra un libro se le quita por completo, las personas me miran extraño cuando digo eso, porque a la mayoría les da sueño leer.

Leer es un placer que solo el lector puede comprender.
Cuantas historias que se tejen alrededor de la lectura, un post lleno de vivencias, me asombra que prácticamente puedas leer bajo cualquier circunstancia, yo requiero de momentos más relajados, por ejemplo, invariablemente para las diversas travesías me llevo un libro, pero en una cola no logro concentrarme así que como mucho leo dos páginas y si tengo gente a mi alrededor ni lo intento. Recientemente en un cola de una farmacia, una mujer me pregunto como podía leer así, 😄 a ella le asombraba que parecía estar en otro mundo, me dijo que tenia muchos minutos observándome y se atrevió a interrumpirme porque le parecía asombroso que me concentrara con tanto ruido y niños a mi alrededor.

the part about your grandma reminds me of something. there are those times in my life when I can't sleep unless I am tired. so I usually take long walks in the evening. once I return my body will ache all over. I'll take my bath and doze off. I thought it was just me until I saw you explain your grandma needs such activity to sleep well too.
your reading position in your patio surrounded by nature sounds cool. I'll love to experience that too.
my dream is also to be stable that way I can read throughout the rest of my life with no worries. do you think that is possible? I just feel there are thousands of information in books that I am yet to discover and I want to find them.

I used to get angry when there was a power outage, now I run out to get my book.
Reading next to my grandmother is not very pleasant when she pulls me and walks fast 😂.
My dream job would be, reading audios books, I've tried to look for that information to make it happen but I'm still not coming up with that answer. I would also accompany him traveling the world and learning about cultures.

Eres una lectora excepcional. No me imagino poder leer mientras se pasea a la abuela, es grandioso que te puedas concentrar en el texto en esas condiciones. Lo de la luz a lo mejor no lo entienden la gente de los otros países, pero para nosotros es una realidad. Si la luz se va en el día también aprovecho para leer, en la noche no porque me maltrata mucho la vista leer a la luz de las velas. Me encantó leer tu publicación, estimada @soyunasantacruz. Gracias, tampoco me explico como lo logró, mi abuela me hala y juega conmigo como si fuera su muñeca de trapo. Yo la dejo mientras pueda leer. Había pensado sacar fotos de eso, pero salen muy movidas.

Lo que sucede es que disfruto mas leer porque paso mas tiempo en el día en este ejercicio, que escribiendo.

I am also big on nibbling on something while reading especially since I get food cravings.

Saludos, me llamó la atención esta frase: “Soy el tipo de lector que si tengo sueño y agarro un libro desaparece por completo, la gente me mira raro cuando digo eso porque a la mayoría les da sueño leer.” Si el libro atrapa mi atención me pasa lo mismo, pero trato de no volverlo un hábito ya que mi descanso es vital, sobre todo, ahora que estoy embarazada. Por otra parte, comparto tu gusto por la lectura al aire libre y los bocadillos (jeje).
Las mujeres embarazadas tienen más sueño que todos, no puedes dejar de dormir.

Me encantó leer tu participación. Aquí en nuestro país aprovechamos todo, hasta cuando se va la electricidad. También suelo leer en esas horas porque, sin internet, todo se paraliza, no se puede trabajar. Entonces es mejor ocupar ese tiempo leyendo. Suerte en el concurso, amiga.
