Esta grandiosa novela cuenta una historia sorprendente, muy cruda, realista y que te tomarás de forma muy personal, ya que la historia gira en torno a la perdida de un niño al que llaman Kike, pero resulta que el pequeño no solo esta perdido, todo indica que fue raptado por un predador, por uno de esos enfermos que se excitan con los pequeños. Para completar el panorama, resulta que no es la primera vez que ocurrió algo así y asumen que se trata del mismo predador, porque el niño desapareció en el mismo lugar donde había desaparecido otro pequeño hace tiempo atrás. Todo se torna caótico porque el niño que había desaparecido antes jamás se supo de su paradero. ¿Darán con el pequeño Kike? ¿Será que si se trata del mismo secuestrador? ¿Slenderman hizo otra vez de las suyas?
This great novel tells a surprising story, very raw, realistic and that you will take very personally, as the story revolves around the loss of a child they call Kike, but it turns out that the little boy is not only lost, everything indicates that he was abducted by a predator, by one of those sick people who get excited with little children. To complete the picture, it turns out that this isn't the first time something like this has happened and they assume that it's the same predator, because the child disappeared in the same place where another child had disappeared some time ago. Everything becomes chaotic because the child who had disappeared before has never been found. Will they find little Kike? Will it be the same kidnapper? Slenderman do it again?
A pesar de ser la primera novela que que Carme Chaparro publicó, fue un gran éxito. Carme Chaparro es un figura pública, conocida por su excelente trabajo como periodista y por sus apariciones en la tv como presentadora informativa. Como todos saben en la actualidad cualquiera parece que puede publicar un libro, y los famosos tienden a publicar libros que no son muy buenos, pero resulta que el caso de Carme es distinto, su novela fue un total éxito y lo mejor de todo es que fue una historia bastante original que maneja un tema delicado con el que cualquiera puede simpatizar, es muy cruda, cruel y con unos giros muy buenos. Para ser su primer libro puedo decir que tiene un futuro prometedor en este campo, y se espera que el próximo sea mejor.
Despite being the first novel that Carme Chaparro published, it was a great success. Carme Chaparro is a public figure, known for her excellent work as a journalist and for her appearances on TV as a news presenter. As everyone knows nowadays it seems that anyone can publish a book, and the famous tend to publish books that are not very good, but it turns out that Carme's case is different, her novel was a total success and the best of all is that it was a very original story that handles a delicate subject that anyone can sympathize with, it's very raw, cruel and with some very good twists. For a first book I can say that she has a promising future in this field, and hopefully the next one will be even better.
En esta historia hay dos figuras femeninas que son las protagonistas principales Inés y Ana. Inés (al igual que la autora de esta obra) es una periodista que también era una escritora, que estaba en busca de inspiración para su nuevo libro del que se esperaba fuera un bestseller como el anterior. En medio de su búsqueda no tiene otro remedio que cubrir la historia de la desaparición de Kike en contra de su voluntad, por petición de su jefe Manuel. Inés era muy buena en su trabajo, pero no quería cubrir esa historia en particular por motivos personales que se descubren a medida que la historia avanza.
In this story there are two female figures who are the main protagonists Ines and Ana. Ines (as well as the author of this work) is a journalist who was also a writer, who was in search of inspiration for her new book which was expected to be a bestseller like the previous one. In the midst of her search she has no choice but to cover the story of Kike's disappearance against her will, at the request of her boss Manuel. Ines was very good at her job, but she didn't want to cover that particular story for personal reasons that are revealed as the story progresses.
Por otro lado tenemos a Ana Arén una inspectora en jefe que tiene una personalidad bastante fuerte, que no tolera las estupideces, ni las cosas mal hechas y es famosa por lograr grandes cosas. Una mujer con una reputación que no es ni buena ni mala, sino que indica que debes comportarte correctamente en su presencia, una mujer que ama a su padre, una mujer fuerte y muy inteligente, en resumen, una mujer recta y decidida, sencillamente una mujer muy capaz.
On the other hand we have Ana Aren, a chief inspector who has quite a strong personality, who has no tolerance for stupidity, no tolerance for things done wrong and is famous for achieving great things. A woman with a reputation that is neither good nor bad, but which indicates that you should behave correctly in her presence, a woman who loves her father, a strong and very intelligent woman, in short, an upright and determined woman, simply a very capable woman.
Esta historia es contada desde la perspectiva de varios personajes, pero enfocada principalmente en el punto de vista de Inés y la inspectora Ana en la búsqueda incansable de Enrique, el pequeño que repitió la historia de hace años. Otro pequeño que desaparece en frente de todos una tarde del miércoles en un centro comercial, y nadie vio nada, ni a nadie sospechoso. Una mamá destrozada, una inspectora con un caso donde se deja el alma para resolverlo y una excelente reportera que revive un caso que la marcó para siempre.
This story is told from the perspective of several characters, but mainly focused on the point of view of Inés and the inspector Ana in the tireless search for Enrique, the little boy who repeated the story of years ago. Another little boy who disappears in front of everyone a Wednesday afternoon in a shopping centre, and no one saw anything or anyone suspicious. A devastated mother, an inspector with a case she is working her heart out to solve, and an excellent reporter who relives a case that marked her forever.
La autora Carme se las ingenia para contarnos una historia que sin importar la perspectiva del personaje nos mantiene en constante expectación, y con un centenar de preguntas que se responden a su debido tiempo, pero eso sí, la historia se escribió en un lenguaje un poco subido de tono, nada exagerado (en lo que a mí respecta) pero sí esta muy presente y marcado en toda la historia. No soy un fan de ese tipo de vocabulario pero en esta historia no lo vi fuera de lugar, pues es una historia que envuelve solo a adultos, y no me parece inapropiado, simplemente no es algo que me encante, aun así considero que la historia es lo suficientemente buena como para no leerla por ese pequeño detalle.
The author Carme manages to tell us a story that, regardless of the character's perspective, keeps us in constant expectation, and with a hundred questions that are answered in due time, but yes, the story is written in a slightly obscene language, nothing exaggerated (as far as I'm concerned) but it's very present and marked throughout the story. I'm not a fan of that kind of vocabulary but in this story I didn't see it out of place, as it's a story that involves only adults, and I don't find it inappropriate, it's just not something I like, even so I consider the story is good enough not to read it because of that little detail.
Me gustó mucho que la historia empezara con el predador, con ese lado oscuro de la historia, es algo bastante breve, pero suficiente para despertar ese interés de conocer a la persona detrás de esos pensamientos tan repugnantes y perturbadores. Puede que baste eso para que algunos no quieran seguir leyendo, pero en mí caso que tengo esa atracción por las cosas oscuras y las mentes perturbadas, bastó para engancharme y despertar el lado negro de mi curiosidad. Lo que no me gustó fue que en algunos momentos la historia es algo pesasa y confusa, pero lo que me mantuvo leyendo fueron los personajes, si la lees sabrás de qué hablo.
I really liked that the story started with the predator, with that dark side of the story, it's something quite brief, but enough to arouse that interest to know the person behind those repugnant and disturbing thoughts. Maybe that's enough to make some people not want to continue reading, but in my case, I have that attraction for dark things and disturbed minds, it was enough to get me hooked and arouse the black side of my curiosity. What I didn't like was that in some moments the story is a bit heavy and confusing, but what kept me reading were the characters, if you read it you'll know what I'm talking about.
Con esta novela fue la primera vez que leí una historia con tantas perspectivas distintas, fue una experiencia refrescante para ser honesto, pues lo usual es saber de la historia a través de los ojos del protagonista, sin embargo esta manera de contar una historia me parece nueva y atractiva. Después de leer esta novela si leí un par en el mismo plan, donde te pones en los zapatos de más de uno de los personajes y lo disfruté mucho, pero como dicen hay muchas cosas que no son tan buenas como la primera vez que las experimentas, este es definitivamente uno de esos casos.
With this novel was the first time I read a story with so many different perspectives, it was a refreshing experience to be honest, because the usual is to know about the story through the eyes of the protagonist only, however this way of telling a story seems new and attractive to me. After reading this novel I did read a couple on the same plan, where you put yourself in the shoes of more than one of the characters and I enjoyed it a lot, but as they say there are many things that aren't as good as the first time you experience them, this is definitely one of those cases.
Espero que al menos a una persona le despierte la curiosidad después de leer mi reseña. Encuentro esta historia fascinante, diferente, algo fuerte, intensa y súper entretenida, con frases grandiosas como: "No te pelees con las manos, afila tu cabeza. Es lo que te permitirá ganar las guerras en las que te metas. O en las que te metan" o esta otra frase, "Muchas veces de una mentira se saca más de una verdad" o esta que es de mis favoritas, "Quizá las desgracias ajenas nos hacen pensar que nuestra vida de mierda no es tan mala. Además, la piedad siempre conjuga bien con la soberbia". Si buscas una lectura diferente esta es la mejor opción, la recomiendo personalmente, para que también descubras el por qué del título.
I hope at least one person's curiosity is piqued after reading my review. I find this story fascinating, different, somewhat strong, intense and super entertaining, with great lines like: "Don't fight with your hands, sharpen your head. That's what will allow you to win the wars you get into. Or the ones you get into " or this other phrase, "Many times from a lie you get more than one truth " or this one that is one of my favourites, "Maybe other people's misfortunes make us think that our shitty life isn't so bad. Besides, pity always goes well with pride". If you are looking for a different kind of reading, this is the best option, I personally recommend it, so that you can also discover the reason for the title.
