Polish YouTube personalities Jakub and Dawid are LGBTQ activists in a country where as “much as one-third of the country has declared itself ‘LGBT ideology-free zones’”. They shot reaction videos and complied it in a YouTube video where they hand out free rainbow masks. They “state as it turns out, the rainbow does not offend, does not infect, but can protect people from a real threat."

I think this is a very good initiative on their part. The color of the mask is a means of expressing oneself and to spend a message such as "I am for LGBT", "I am LGBT".
Far-right ideologies are really beginning to take a foothold in eastern Europe. Brave of them to challenge that mindset, because that's the way to change hearts and minds.
Even though the intention might have been good, I don't think that handling masks to people who need them, but with some ideological message attached to it,was a good idea. The other scenarios that you posed, Armin, make it even clearer that many people, out of conviction, would reject the offer, in this case the mask; others, maybe out of need, but opposed to the message, may have to accept it.
I would say, as Rivka, said, that you can always reject the "gift" if you find it offensive. That should be the end of the story. Yet, I think that it was in poor taste to take advantage of the contingency to further an agenda.
These are the times for solidarity and disinterested actions
This whole madness is soon coming to an end, that am sure of, this Corona virus issues will be a thing of the past pretty soon
