thanks for taking interest. the cake is rich and moist, more heavy than fluffy with plenty of chocolate. i also once thought pears and chocolate was an unlikely combination until i was introduced to poires belle helene, a wonderful french classic dessert. i was fully convinced it was a combination worth exploring more

as for the almond milk, this method was a shortcut for baking purposes. if i was making it for drinking or using more directly i would have soaked the almonds much longer and perhaps added some other flavor
