Hello friends of this beautiful community, today I bring you the step by step to make a pineapple jam and also a brief review of the Pineapple Festival that was held on 06/27/2022 in Barquisimeto, Lara State, Venezuela.

First, let's go through the step-by-step process of making the jam.

Estos son los ingredientes:

These are the ingredients:

  • Piña
  • Azúcar
  • Canela
  • Limón
  • Clavos de olor
  • Pineapple
  • Sugar
  • Cinnamon
  • Lemon
  • Cloves

I wanted to show you the whole pineapple, because it was big and beautiful, but when I realized my husband had already peeled and chopped it hahaha.

Chop the pineapple into small pieces, place it in a pot preferably with a thick bottom, then add the sugar, cinnamon and cloves. Ripe pineapple usually releases a lot of liquid, but if necessary you can add a little water. Let it boil for about 20 minutes, in this time a good part of the liquid has already evaporated and the pineapple is soft, with the help of a processor I give it just a few touches, since I like it to have some small pieces, you can also make it grated and it will be great.
The last step is to add the juice of a lemon five minutes before turning off the stove. The lemon is optional, since it raises the natural acid of the pineapple.

Since I didn't have any cookies or bread, I decided to make some bread (I don't know what to call it) but I only used 1/2 cup of water and 1 cup of all-purpose flour.
In a bowl I added the flour (I reserved a little bit to pour on the counter when rolling out the dough) and I added the water little by little, so that the dough wouldn't be watery, I let it rest for about five minutes and then I kneaded it a little more and proceeded to stretch it with the help of a rolling pin, and to make them the same size I used as cut a can of tuna that I have for these cases, each dough ball I passed them through a frying pan and that was it, I already had something to accompany my jam.
This was a delicious snack for my family.

I live and work in the northern area of Barquisimeto, in the Cují-Tamaca Parish and on 06/27/2022 the third Pineapple Festival was held in the Tamaca stadium.
This festival was held for the first time in 2017 and due to the pandemic was suspended in 2020 and 2021.
Why the pineapple?
Because in this area are producers of this item.
Who participates?
Schools and high schools in the area participate, each one of them brings products based on pineapple: cakes, jams, preserves, manjar and many other things.
In order to elaborate the products, the teachers, workers, administrative personnel and representatives, give their contribution and participate in the elaboration of the products that will be sold to the public that visits them, they are also in charge of the decoration of the stand of the institution, the money of the sales is to cover some necessities that the institution presents (of the simplest because in one day it is not that they can collect so much).
For me this activity is very nice, it involves aspects that, to comply with an institutional requirement, are left aside.
It represents the opportunity to:
*Encourage in our children the culture of the area where they live.
*To share with the family, because they are the ones who must attend and support by buying at the fair and at the same time share with their children.
*If it is done with commitment, it should innovate and not only present the traditional.
*I also think it should be held on another date where the institutions are not in the process of completing academic activities, since they do not have the time to devote and enjoy this activity.
For my part I went and took some pictures that I share with you:

En esta salgo yo.

This one features me.

As it was already late, there were only a few people left in the stadium.

This is the school I bought a jam from, I liked the way it was presented.

The marmalade I bought, I loved it, it had black sugar.

This post is very nice @jessiencasa, both for the recipe and for the event you review in it. Pineapple jam is very tasty and versatile. I think it's great teach children to value their customs and gastronomy. Greetings.

Thank you, the jam turned out very good. The fair has a lot of potential, what is needed is commitment and to make it a real party. Greetings and thank you for your kind comment.

Dear @jessiencasa, we need your help!

The Hivebuzz proposal already got important support from the community. However, it lost its funding a few days ago when the HBD stabilizer proposal rose above it.
