Here's my update post on how the Broncos went over the weekend along with the results of all the games they've played so far this year in order from first to most current:
- Loss: Brisbane Broncos (0) V's Penrith Panthers (26) - What the fuck.
- Loss: Brisbane Broncos (32) Vs Paramatta Eels (40) - What the fucking fuck.
- Win: Brisbane Broncos (18) V's Melbourne Storm (14) - A solid comeback win.
- Win: Brisbane Broncos (26) V's Dolphins (12) - The momentum builds.
- Win: Brisbane Broncos (26) V's Gold Coast Titans (12) - A win but worrying injuries.
- Loss: Brisbane Broncos (31) V's North Queensland Cowboys (35) - Tough game they should have won.
- Win: Brisbane Broncos (21) V's Wests Tigers (20) - A one point win - I'll take it.
- Win: Brisbane Broncos Win: (32) V's Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs (12) - A dominant display.
- Loss: Brisbane Broncos (24) V's Sydney Roosters (38) An epic loss despite such effort.
- Loss: Brisbane Broncos (4) V's Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles (32) - I'm not fucken happy.
- Loss: Brisbane Broncos (12) V's New Zealand Warriors (42) - A lack of discipline cost the Broncos.
- Loss: Brisbane Broncos (26) V's St. George Illawarra Dragons (30) - I don't even know what to say.
- Loss: Brisbane Broncos (23) V's Gold Coast Titans (28) - A season ending loss? (Possibly)
The Broncos started the game well, the hardcore outfit they they usually are. Mathematically they didn't need to win the game to still have the chance to make the final eight and the playoffs but I went into this game thinking that a loss could very easily be season ending - Their next several games are against teams already in the top eight so there'll be no easy run into the finals if they are to make it. A win was sorely needed.
Interestingly, in the 2025 season the Broncos had the same win/loss record as they did coming into this game against the Titans and they not only made the finals, they won the whole thing in 2025! I wanted them to win of course but the strong start was countered by some inspired gameplay by the Titans crew and into the second half I had that sinking feeling that another loss was on the way. And...it was.
The season isn't over, they can still make the eight and the finals, but I am not confident and have resigned myself to the likely fact that the Broncos won't back up last years' championship with another this year.

I think it's my fault. The football gods don't like it when I don't watch the game! I'll have to watch the high lights and get ready for next week's game.

It's like they do NOT want to be in the top 8 so they play less games...
That's highly unlikely considering the millions of dollars they pay players and the millions more it costs the team to run year by year...and the revenue they pull in for sponsorship. They're not playing well enough though and that's the main issue.
