I've been re-reading, and reflecting upon, one of my favourite books called Meditations by Marcus Aurelius and I thought I'd share a few quotes here and there. Quite conveniently, I took a walk around part of the city where I live recently and decided some of the images I took on that walk may be suitable in accompaniment to the quotes I choose.

I like that quote. It resonates with me.
I think I kind of live it these days. I was just thinking this morning about the feeling of satisfaction I get in resolving even the smallest things. My life is full of small things.
The forward as occasion offers has always been a part of me, part of my nature.
Small things, a heap of th m, have a way of culminating into bigger ones and if that's done enough...well, I reckon a person's doing ok.
I'm quite demanding, even with myself, so I really can't enjoy little successes... Anything that's on the average doesn't satisfy me, a little success that anyone can archive is like indifferent... Maybe it's wrong to be like this, I don't know

Celebrating success (even small success) can feel like a little reward and motivator to keep pushing forward I guess; depends on the individual. I used to go from one success to another with hardly a thought or pause until I learned the power of celebrating wins, even if that celebration is a few moments to enjoy a cup of coffee at a cafe before forging ahead once more.
If we waited to rejoice and celebrate only great successes, the question is how many times in our lives would we have such a celebration? So go ahead, step by step, to the higher floors 🙂 As for the opinions of others, of course we should not be interested in their attitude about our successes, be they big or small, because only in rare cases do we get a truly sincere "Bravo" from people around us. People are often jealous or envious of other people's successes. And that's why I'm not interested in their opinion. As for success, but also for failure. There are also those specific people, who do not react to success, but are the first to provide "help" when a failure is experienced, as if they feed on other people's failures and thereby glorify their successes in helping.
What's been th smallest success you've stopped to celebrate?
A few days ago, while on vacation, I climbed hundreds of steps (probably 300) to a beautiful viewpoint above the seashore. I wrote about it on Wednesday 🙂
In addition to the view I was treating my eyes to, I rewarded myself a few minutes later with a coffee on the beach.
That's something to celebrate...and enjoy wholeheartedly.
Always amazes me how many quotes Marcus made considering he had an empire to run? 🤣👍

My brother @tarazkp, yes he's my actual brother, told me you had paraphrased one of his own posts and placed it into his Reflections community (which he has now muted). Just that alone would earn you downvotes from me for...well, forever but then i see you've chosen to comment to select users here, all with larger stakes, like @livinguktaiwan, @revisesociology, @tattoodjay, @tarazkp and myself as well of course.

So, I removed the small comment votes I'd given you and I think you'll find my brother will remove his own. You may find some more activity occurs in the future as well I guess.
