FINTECH ⚡️ FLASH (8).jpg

Hello Hive Fam!

I'm back with another Fintech Flash, where I go over the biggest news happening in Fintech and blockchain over the last week. My apologies for posting this one a few days late. Kind of crazy to think how much has happened since this was filmed!

Here's what was covered in Episode 12:

Ethereum rallies to it’s highest price since 2018. This time, the network is far more popular than it was two years ago though. According to data from Glassnode, more Ethereum addresses held ETH this year than in any other year since Ethereum’s launch in 2015. This year so far, the Ethereum network added an extra 14.8 million addresses that hold a balance.

Could this be the End of Privacy coins? Crypto analytics firm CipherTrace announced on Friday that it had filed two patents for technology capable of tracing transactions for Monero. In a Nov. 20th blog, the firm stated that the patents would include forensic tools to explore XMR transaction flows, statistical and probabilistic methods for scoring transactions and clustering likely wallet owners.

Bitcoin’s extended bull run continues to delight investors. Data from monitoring resource Skew underscores just how much Bitcoin has outperformed alternatives. Bitcoin's year-to-date returns total 160%, while gold has managed just 22% and the S&P 500 an even less appealing 10.9% Tom Lee,the cofounder of Fundstrat Global Advisors recently told Yahoo Finance that 2021 will likely be the year of the fireworks for Bitcoin and that the best may be yet to come.

XRP Rises More Than 50% as Altcoins Piggyback on Bitcoin’s Wave. Other coins such as ethereum, litecoin, cardano, EOS, Tezos amongst others, are seeing bullish momentum as well - seemingly tracking bitcoin’s fast move toward record highs.

Argentina and Brazil Get Their Own Stellar Stablecoins. In a world where banks make very slow international transactions - blockchain technologies can provide a safe, fast, and efficient alternative for sending money. Settle Network and Stellar are issuing two stablecoins in Latin America. First, the ARST - which is tied to the Argentine peso, and the BRLT which is tied to the Brazilian real.

English actress Maisie Williams, best known for her role as Arya Stark in the HBO series Game of Thrones, may be joining the Bitcoin bandwagon. In a Nov. 16 message on Twitter, the actress asked her 2.7 million followers if she should “go long on Bitcoin.” The high-profile celebrity’s mention of Bitcoin left Crypto Twitter abuzz as crypto enthusiasts flocked to chime in. Bitcoin adoption among major figures in entertainment and finance has seen a major uptick in 2020 as many look to hedges for inflation and digital alternatives to cash.

Hope you enjoyed it and i'll be back next week for another Fintech ⚡️Flash!
