I have been in the custody of Harris County before. It's not particularly pleasant, and I agree cops there are likely to be abusive, perhaps moreso than elsewhere. Glad you seem generally intact, as that's not something guaranteed during such interactions.
Remember that fear is a better friend to you than am I. If you embrace it, you will find it of great benefit, keeping you on your toes, recommending discretion, counseling care when it is needed. Having no fear isn't bravery. It's absolute idiocy. Letting fear drive your actions isn't wisdom, it's cowardice.
Stay safe, but stay in the fight.

Glad you are doing well. There was no curfew announced? A disperse order on megaphone even?
Isn't there better opportunity to protest, be seen, be peaceful, and be heard in the daytime?
Although sympathetic to the protesters, I am having a hard time understanding the rioters, violence instigators, street blockers, vandals, and folks organizing night protest activities without permit. Those are all crimes people are normally are arrested for, as supported by society and their representative lawmakers. I support peaceful protesters choosing to abstain from from reckless actions.
I look forward to checking out videos you might share documenting improper acts violence, from police, or otherwise.
