I don't know why the name of Jibanananda Das comes to my mind first of all when it comes to reciting poems. One of the reasons for this may be that Jibanananda Das writes about love and nature in his poems. In his poems love and nature blend deeply with each other. That is why he is called the poet of ‘Ruposhi Bangla’(A poet of beautiful Bengal). Today I have recited such a poem which is deeply related to love, the name of it is ‘Tomake Valobashe’. We all know about the lotus leaf where the water doesn’t hold up, it rolls all the time. The poet here in his poem has compared love and life to the dew of the lotus leaf. The ephemerality of our life can be understood by looking at the dew of a lotus leaf. As the dew of the lotus leaves lost after a certain period of time, this short life of ours comes to an end like this. However, hope you will enjoy the recitation.
