ETH dex support for Hive - I'm paying a bounty for this if you're interested.
Unfinished work: https://github.com/EtherSteem
Possible salvageable work: https://github.com/peerplays-network/peerplays/tree/feature/SONs-base

If you've worked on a bridge to grapahene blockchains please link your opensource work below for a big vote!

I'm also paying for the first dev to get Hive integrated into Rosetta https://www.rosetta-api.org/

I'm still getting ball park figures for prices but I will pay a fair amount for the work done.

And last but not least Ledger support which Netuoso is working on via DAO funding.

3 small things that will add tremendous value to Hive.

What I would like to see us focus on is developing strategies to get the greatest content in front of as many eyes as possible.

I'd like to see a curation project that rewards people who share content they enjoy across the internet. Project managers could review the quality of the 'share' regardless of the platform, gauge how much traction it is getting, and reward whoever shared it appropriately. Of course it would have to be respectful to the place in which it is being shared. Don't want to annoy people or disrespect a community. The rules could be hammered out.

We know how to cultivate good content. We have the secret sauce, and boy is it a good one! What should open the window to the kitchen and the let aromas waft around the internet. Let's entice them in, the fire's warm! Let's normalize the platform through exposure.

Maybe the curation project could run competitions for creators to create the best content, and then that content would receive a commercial budget to help it spread across the internet. Youtube adds, Facebook and instagram etc etc etc.

Cultivate good content on chain.
Advertise and disseminate it off chain.
Incentivize new accounts and encourage/reward engagement
Offer normie friendly onramps.

Content discovery is the front ends job, IMO. There is no one size fits all content discovery method that works across all platforms. Leo has been doing an excellent job of this go check out their trending.

This I 100% agree with. Each frontend has it's own niche so it needs to be up to the dApp to process and show content according to their target demographic and even down to the individual that is surfing the content.

I would like to see more focus on getting users to the right resources to discover all of the dApps they can use on the HIVE blockchain. Steem had the major issue of being constantly tunnel-visioned to steemit.com we don't need the same thing to happen on HIVE.

I agree 100%

What is $100,000 when it results getting hive back over $3...

We are a baby blockchain in price only

Our blockchain is a beast, after getting on DEX’s let’s set some transactions/second records.

Our community is beast, we countered a hostile takeover and, in a way, doubled our tokens in the process.

We have one of the most legit projects.

I’m glad to see @theycallmedan recognizing that we NEED to get high volume, more exchanges, a sustained pump that doesn’t crash... and it all starts with getting on uniswap and other dexs.

The whole technical interaction with the exchanges, they're not trivial things, they're (for most people) 'boring but very important'!

Random idea but semi-serious that your video reminded me of. What if I told you there is a crypto market cap cheat code?

To get into the top 20 or top 5 “tomorrow”, all we have to do is create Hive and send it to a wallet address that has no known keys and cannot transfer funds out of it. This will increase our circulating Hive supply and thus our market cap without really changing anything since these tokens cannot actually be accessed by anyone. It creates coins (and thus market cap) without really creating coins or changing the supply/demand curve in any meaningful way.

As you point out, some people just look at the top 20 or 30 coins. This is a cheat to get us in front of those people. This is why I think burning Hive in a way hurts us by burning market cap but that is another comment/post.

Does that make sense?

If we want to do this in a way that was not super sketchy, one option would be to go ahead and create all the Hive tokens that will be created in the next say 10 years and then have the reward pool be drawn from that pool similar to how the Steemit stake is being funneled into the dao at a set rate.

OHHHH, ok ok. I like this. Once these are created, we will reduce the inflation because the tokens will have already been created!

This approach:

  1. instantly increases our market cap
  2. “lowers” our stated inflation rate to attract investors
  3. doesn’t truly lower our inflation (just the distribution model) so everyone else is happy at the same time.

Boom. 🎤

Everyone will be confused by the huge new supply created. If it is counted in the market cap calculations, it means that coingecko and coinmarketcap will show the supply increase. Also, calculate how many coins would be needed to get us in top 20. Way too many.

Hmm...I thought ledger support was already done. That for me would be next level considering the security of having a hardware wallet.

These are the things we need to build to make Hive mainstream.

It is done, now we are waiting on Ledger. Exciting stuff!

I'm going to be a lot more active poking and prodding Ledger now. It's been a while so I have to find out what the hold up is

I have been trawling the supported coins list looking for Hive ever since but nada at the moment.

I would love for them to add it as soon as possible before I order the new Ledger wallet.

Uphold as well. The tweet bombardment might get us listed. It is the only crypto exchange that accepts my Kenyan bank's debit card.

Hear Hear!

Use the system instead of being idealistic. Agree fully! Crypto is for large part speculation. HIVE shall be everywhere where speculators are.

Money collects money its like a snowball with momentum despite what we all think about fundamentals a lot of people are just going to look for whats popular, the best tech doesn't always win, I think BTC is proof of that its by far not the best in terms of features but it does work well and people love it.

Bitcoin is riding the wave of first mover advantage

Dan, it must be something about the first name but you are the best thing to happen to this community since Larimer created Steem. I'm not saying that to flatter either. Nobody else involved in this blockchain makes this much sense when they talk about it. You understand all the facets needed to make this thing grow. I wish you all the success in the world. I hope you make billions.

I'm ready to flip Tron.
Let's do this.

Did someone say RFP?!

I agree, we need somewhere for ideas to gain traction for people other than developers. What they enjoy doing and proposing isn't necessarily what the community wants.

You are pushing hive.Thats cool.i am 7 days here but in some months i would love some strong collaboration s

Are you sure @netuoso is still working on Ledger integration? His on chain activity stopped. I would love an update from him. Maybe you talked to him on discord or slack or something?

Edit- Also, I asked you on twitter if you need info about the uniswap integration. I can contact some people who could answer questions if you have any.

Love the way you want to use the DAO, funding yourself first. I would definitely vote the proposal.

I ensure you I am still working on Ledger, Hive, and researching ways to improve both. Currently I am waiting a response from Ledger regarding listing the app on Ledger Live so it can be easily downloaded by normal users without having to sideload. The app itself is ready to be used on Ledger Nano S if you want to sideload it onto your device. The code is all open source and I hope people take a chance to review it for security issues because I will probably need a community peer review of the code to finalize the submission to Ledger Live.

I am going to make a point to be much more active with on chain communication and engagement, but I am only just recovering from being pretty sick for over a week so I'm getting there but slowly.

Thanks for keeping me in mind but I haven't gone away I promise.

I hope you get well soon.

Thanks for answering, and good to know you're still here.

Feedback from the last Hive Power Up Day

Stupid question time: when the Steem Hardfork 0.23 resulted in the theft of millions of tokens, there was lots of talk about Justin Sun getting into all kinds of legal trouble and potentially facing jail time. What, if anything, actually has happened since then?

The arm of the law moves slow, but once it does GG.

Hey, it's amazing to see people wanting to add wrapped HIVE to Ethereum. I started reworking my old EtherSteem project, with a little luck, I might be able to have a working demo by the end of this week.

Yes we talked in Twitter. That would be amazing. @netuoso is also digging I linked him your GitHub. Maybe you can help each other out?

2020 is the year of Hive

Let's fucking go

I had similar thoughts the other day, but I think there is a relatively easy way to realize this: sythetix.io creates synthetic assets, which are not linked to oracles on chainlink. The minted synthetic tokens mirror the price development of the original assets but are ERC 20 tokens, so they can be used on uniswap etc. They have these for various crypto currencies, which run on other chains such as BTC, EOS etc. I am not sure what is necessary to get Hive integrated there, but I guess this would be a relatively easy way without any full integration on witness level.

Improving Hive's Utility and Visibility

In this episode, TheyCallMeDan discusses several ways to improve the utility and visibility of the Hive blockchain. He emphasizes the importance of making Hive more accessible to mainstream investors and increasing its presence on popular decentralized exchanges (DEXs) like Uniswap.

Integrating with Ethereum DEXs and Rosetta

Dan believes Hive is missing out on significant speculative trading opportunities by not being integrated with Ethereum-based DEXs. These platforms, like Uniswap and Balancer, have seen massive growth and trading volume, with some tokens experiencing 5-10x price increases in a single day. Dan is willing to personally fund the integration of Hive with these DEXs, as well as the Rosetta open-source software that helps exchanges list new cryptocurrencies.

Appealing to Mainstream Investors

He argues that Hive needs to cater to the needs of mainstream investors, who may have different requirements than the average Hive user. Things like Ledger hardware wallet support, listing on regulated exchanges like Coinbase, and being in the top 20 cryptocurrencies by market cap can make Hive more appealing to these investors. He believes that making Hive more accessible to a wider audience will unlock new sources of liquidity and funding.

Embracing Speculation and Marketing

Dan acknowledges that some in the Hive community may view speculation and marketing as "un-pure," but he argues that these are necessary components for Hive's success. He believes that number-go-up psychology is a powerful driver of adoption and that Hive should actively market itself and tell its story to potential investors. Dan is willing to dedicate his own resources to fund these efforts, with the expectation of being partially reimbursed by the Hive DAO in the future.

Calling on the Hive Developer Community

Dan is reaching out to the Hive developer community, asking for help in integrating Hive with Ethereum DEXs and the Rosetta project. He is willing to provide funding and is open to collaborating with developers who have already done work in these areas to expedite the process.

Overall, Dan's message is clear: Hive needs to take proactive steps to increase its visibility, utility, and appeal to a wider audience of investors and users. By embracing speculation, marketing, and strategic partnerships, he believes Hive can unlock significant growth and become a dominant player in the blockchain space.
