Feeling freedom when expressing yourself is ...
We have the right to express ourselves and complain if something bothers us or we think it is wrong. We had always been able to demonstrate freely if any government did not convince us that we were doing its job well and the government had a duty to let us make that demonstration.
Currently we have a disguised right of freedom, we are granted the right to demonstrate, but after being together for a certain time they ambush us with police, tanks, weapons and a lot of repression that has taken away our desire to protest so as not to die in the demonstration.
The psychological terror that we have to manifest is not freedom. We are censored on the internet, we cannot see certain pages, we cannot express ourselves on social networks. We are free to say only what they want to hear, the rest is banned and is punished with persecution and jail.
Feel freedom of choice is ...
For more than two decades we have been frustrated and deceived. We have discovered that our vote to elect a presidential candidate to govern us is not taken into account by a party that has been in power all that time.
To be free we should not be governed by anyone, but we understand that someone must implement rules so as not to fall into chaos. But if the same party lasts many elections in power, that is already totalitarianism. They have taken power for a few without regard for others.
Feeling free to choose your food is ...
I love going to the supermarket and choosing the products that I buy to feed my family. That is something that we have been censored with a box that the government sells us from time to time. I don't like those products, those brands are from another country and have other uses, not the one we give them.
The flour to make arepas that that box brings is not the same as the flour that we use, it is more wheat flour, not corn. I have fun and relax when I can go to a supermarket or a mall for a walk and check prices. That freedom is incomparable.
Freedom for me is being able to say, eat, read, do things, travel and choose with the certainty that you are being able to express yourself without fear of being punished or censored for that. Freedom is happiness, satisfaction, tranquility and being able to exercise my right as a citizen.

Sentir libertad al expresarte es ...
Tenemos derecho a expresarnos y quejarnos si algo nos molesta o pensamos que está mal. Siempre habíamos podido manifestar libremente si algún gobierno no nos convencía de estar haciendo bien su trabajo y el gobierno tenía el deber de dejarnos hacer esa manifestación.
Actualmente tenemos un derecho disfrazado de libertad, se nos concede el derecho a manifestar, pero luego de estar cierto tiempo reunidos nos hacen una emboscada con policías, tanquetas, armas y mucha represión que nos ha quitado el deseo a protestar para no morir en la manifestación.
El terror psicológico que tenemos a manifestar no es libertad. Se nos censura en el internet, no podemos ver ciertas páginas, no podemos expresarnos en las redes sociales. Somos libre de decir solo lo que ellos quieren escuchar, lo demás está vetado y es castigado con persecución y con cárcel.
Sentir libertad de elección es ...
Desde hace más de dos décadas nos sentimos frustrados y engañados. Hemos descubierto que nuestro voto para elegir un candidato a la presidencia para que nos gobierne no es tomado en cuenta por un partido que tiene todo ese tiempo en el poder.
Para ser libres no deberíamos ser gobernados por nadie, pero entendemos que alguien debe implementar reglas para no caer en caos. Pero si un mismo partido dura muchas elecciones en el poder ya eso es totalitarismo. Se han tomado el poder para unos cuantos sin tener en cuenta a los demás.
Sentir libertad de escoger tus alimentos es ...
Me encanta ir al supermercado y escoger los productos que compro para la alimentación de mi familia. Eso es algo que se nos ha censurado con una caja que el gobierno nos vende cada cierto tiempo. No me gustan esos productos, esas marcas son de otro país y tienen otros usos, no el que nosotros les damos.
La harina para hacer arepas que trae esa caja no es igual a la harina que nosotros usamos, es más harina de trigo, no de maíz. Me divierto y me relajo cuando puedo ir a un supermercado o a un centro comercial a caminar y revisar precios. Esa libertad es incomparable.
Libertad para mi es poder decir, comer, leer, hacer cosas, viajar y elegir con la certeza de que te estás pudiendo expresar sin miedo a ser castigado o censurado por eso. La libertad es felicidad, satisfacción, tranquilidad y el poder ejercer mi derecho como ciudadano.

Sorry about the situation in Venezuela. My dad used to live there before he passed on. Things weren't so bad then but from your narration, it has gotten a lot worse. I hope you and the people of Venezuela get the desired freedom they need. Cheers.

La libertad es un derecho humano fundamental e inalienable. Sólo por ser humanos, ya es un derecho inherente a nuestra condición y especie. Lamentablemente Venezuela se ha convertido en un sitio hostil, en donde la libertad cada día está más y más reducida, donde hay más y más sometimiento. Sé que es difícil (sino imposible), luchar contra un sistema que está fríamente calculado para generar consecuencias como esta, que no seamos libres; y esto acarrea algo positivo: Tomar conciencia de lo que es la libertad. Ha escrito un buen post, sencillo, pero lapidario. Saludos.
