The righteous is meant to walk on the right path. One of the major needs of man is to return back to the old Path of the Lord. Majority of us may need to retrace their foot steps back to God Almighty. One of the worse things that can happen is a christian drifting away from the path of the Lord.
The old Path entails of us that we walk in obedience and righteousness. It's better to turn back to to the path of the Lord than to continue on the one that disaligns us from the Will of purpose of God. As people who are walking in the right path we are meant to walk in love, peace, holiness, and obedience.
But unfortunately, people have refused to be led by the spirit of God but instead they give permission to greed and their own selfish desires to lead them. God talking in the Bible says my sheep hears my voice and they answer. They also go on the path their shepherd directs to go. They don't go on their own accord or allow a stranger to lead them.
As believers there's no one else better to direct us on the path to take except the for the one who made us. Other ways may be misleading and at first may seem good but the end would lead to destruction which is what not God they wants for us.
The right path is the old path
The right path is the path of the lord.
