MCGI TOPIC REVIEW || Learning How To Forgive
It is predictable of humans to react hostile towards people when offended. We live in a world where people still have the an eye for an eye mentality. People are too quick to anger, but as christians this shouldn't be our attitude.
We should have the heart of forgiveness. There's benefit in forgiveness. What forgiveness does for us is that it in turn enables us receive God's forgiveness. It wouldn't be humane to refuse someone our forgiveness but in turn expect God to forgive us. We are not any better than anyone else. No one is perfect.
Matthew 5:7 KJV
Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.
There are certain people that may come our way and offend us. This kind of thing is bound to happen to us. But the bible admonishes us to be of a forgiving spirit. We are to temper justice with mercy. The bible doesn't encourage us to bear grudges amongst one another, therefore we shouldn't.
Forgiving people shows that we are indeed obedient towards God's Word that says we should forgive. We should just bear it in mind that we are doing it for God's sake
